  1. to what is happening on the regional geocaching boards. I'm wondering if the Chicago/Texas/Utah/?? Geocaching associations have room on their boards for an off topic forum? For all I know there could already be one out there...anyone know? It would still be geocachers chit-chatting about movies, terrorist, and whatever else came down the pipeline of life.

  5. quote:Originally posted by Goat6500:Who cares. The chick's kinda hot. And Legal. Kinda creepy seeing where she was born though.... You are a very disturbed individual, I like that in a person. I agree with so many of you that it's hard to form a lucid thought. That's never stopped me before so..... I think Dekaner has a point in that people should be striving for quality. I just archived one of my caches because in retrospect, the view wasn't as good as it is in other locations. The hike to the cache was nice enough but by-golly the cache itself should say "cool spot". The only thing that I *really* liked about this cache is that it (appears to be) accessable to those who are most comfortably mobile on flat even surfaces. (people of wheel of chair) My wife did some translation work for Ed Roberts. I could see that she was forever changed by having been in his presence. I'm a second hand convert to the cause. Place a "handi-capable" cache in your city today.
  6. quote:You might want to add some bear repellent to your case. The only bears we have in the San Francisco area anymore are dragging a tin cup back and forth across their cage at the zoo. Hitting up tourist for cigarettes, occasionally stealing a picnic basket whenever animators are in town. quote:On a serious note for male geocachers, be aware that your travels off the beaten path might make you look suspicious. Great.... You know, it took me a really long time to feel comfortable with my kid in the tot park, too many overly concerned mothers would give me suspicious looks if I wasn't standing right next to my daughter. (Erynk ynql, V'z n sna bs oernfgf) I finally gave up on the scenery diversity idea and stuck with the local park where people might get to know me. Now I have to worry about being mistaken for a different type of creep (frkhny cerqngbe) while stumbling around in pursuit of the illusive ammo box. 10. quote:majicman already talks more than most women I know, but that didn't stop him from saying:OK, using the following (rearrangeable) words, give us a neat catch catch-phrase to represnt it Religion Outdoor-Activity Sport Hobby ROASH I Googled on "roash" and this popped up on the first page (didn't actually click the link so do so at your own risk) "Abu Roash. To get to Abu Roash you have to negotiate dumped and rusting vehicles, then climb a steep escarpment. But the view is worth it." That sounds like many of the caches I've been to. Top that!

Okustim is customarily translated as "one without direction" She's supposed to be getting a GPS any time now if it hasn't already arrived so that's taken care of. quote: She's just the first of many. They will come (slowly at first), beautiful, young, vivacious. They will join OUR forums, hunt OUR caches, attend OUR events... then... one day... I'm sorry, I blacked out for a minute there. quote: BTW, Mitsuko, If you're ever in Eastern Washington, I'd like to show you my etchings, that is, if my wife isn't home. Does that offer extend to me? 15. quote:Originally posted by SuperGenius:I am one of those women who cache alone daily. Sometime I laugh at myself when i'm out in a wilderness park because anything can make me jump. Having gone through a bad situation once in my life is enough, and being a little jumpy is ok, it keeps me on my toes. Don't feel too bad about feeling apprehensive SuperGenius. I hike on the exact same trails that you do and I often feel vulnerable when I'm alone "where no one can hear you scream". Granted I'm not a burly tough guy like Leonardo DiCaprio, so this might just be my personal insecurities showing.
  16. Since this thread began with such a masterfully written disclosure, there really isn't much to add. Who's going to argue that toxic waste dumps are a victim of bad publicity and that if you only took the time to get to know them you'd find that deep down inside they're not so bad. Toxic waste dumps are like Magellan users, rotten to the core. I suggest we use this thread for a higher purpose. He who's oars don't quite reach the water wrote quote: Like I always say regarding this game / sport / pasttime / hobby / frolic: We need to come with a suitable acronym for game - sport - pasttime - hobby (frolic is what Hippies do) Game Pastime Sport that's GPS, but that might lead to confusion...somehow. 17. There is NO way that will fit in a traditional cache.

I really do get choked up, whenever I think of what you all mean to me. Next month is my anniversary so I'll save my speech for then. (especially since I don't live in the Northwest) Thank you Fractal, for being man enough to put into words what many of us have been thinking.

I hate to do this to you Chris (not really, I truly am loving the opportunity) but In this thread we get a peek into the social dynamics of his relationship. I've met his wife, and in my opinion she is every bit as attractive as Mitsuko (That's a compliment to you Mitsuko) but she's way too much like my wife for my taste.

  22. Well, in a manner of speaking. quote:Got a taker for the cache in Wisconsin. If anything changes I will let you know. I promised I'd do the posting for her. ::headpat::
  23. Ironically I had trouble finding the exact link myself.... Until I searched on the word "Troll" It's a good read, I contacted the author and informed him that I'd enjoyed it and that we were talking about it here. (Me? A geo-pimp?) I did notice that the photos that were originally included in the article are no longer there. He respond right away with a thank you, so we might have a geocaching artical to read in the near future. There are some decent caches in Las Vegas with *TONS* of activity since so many pass through that place.
  24. quote:Originally posted by Clan Ferguson:Troll??? isn't that what they call someone on the internet thats just tring to goade someone else into reponding to things that the Troll just wants to argue about?? Actually, that was less akin to a troll and more along the lines of fishing with dynamite. As it turns out I ended up "trolling" myself with this one since I've had to check this thread each and every day, waiting for you to respond. It's been so long I can barely remember what this was in response to but Clan had said something in a different thread so I was taunting him a little. I think you're a stand-up guy Clan Ferguson, so I hope you see all of this in the humorous vein I had intended.
