  1. You forgot the Staunch Defenders of Everything Lame. I found that in a search tonight. What a wonderful name!
  2. I agree. It's terribly sad. I can tell you've felt that way for a long time, since a quick search shows you have spent an inordinate amount of time in the forums for several years criticizing other cachers. Maybe it's time to quit.
  3. The official Walmart permission contact is Helen Waite. If you want to place a LPC at a Walmart, you should go to Helen Waite.
  4. Who cares? Answer: only you. So for your own stats you can add it as an FTF. FTF is not recognized by the site. Why is it that people try to turn a perfectly fun activity like geocaching into a contest? If you want to do a contest, go become a marathon runner or something and leave the rest of us alone.
  5. First, it doesn't affect the accuracy at all, and second, it makes no difference which the cache hider had his or hers set to. Leave it on true north so that the maps show right.
  6. IMO, doing a cut-and-paste log for a 1/1 LPC is not "earning" much of anything.
  7. Oh so now your saying that just because cachers get high numbers they must be claiming finds they didn't actually make????? what a idiot. Ooh, looks like we hit a nerve! I didn't say all high numbers cachers claim finds they didn't make. Just a higher percentage than the general population. Not surprising, since high numbers cachers tend to value their find counts very highly, while normal people don't really care all that much.
  8. Groundspeak sets up a system where cache owners can automatically delete logs with certain keywords in them, e.g. "FTF" or "Find xx of yy."
  9. OMG I can't believe you said that! Are you actually proud of your numbers? Do you really think they make you better than everybody else?
  10. Maybe that just means you are finding too many caches. If you can't even be bothered to write a decent log for each one, then I don't see why the owner shouldn't delete your logs unless you can convince him that you actually found it. Numbers cachers like you seem to have a habit of going for the smiley at all costs, sometimes claiming finds they didn't actually make.
  11. Very smart. Give the kids an active part in the caching, while the parent has the details of the placement in their more expensive unit. I hadn't thought about that. Good cross-marketing.
  12. Perhaps you should re-read the agreement you acknowledge when you list a cache on the site: Groundspeak is completely within their rights to license any portion of their database to anybody they want. If you don't want your caches used that way, don't submit therm here. As far as I am concerned, the only downside to this whole thing is the inconsistency with Groundspeak's apparent business model that is based on always using the site for the cache information. That and the cache maggots, of course.
  13. Why is everybody so anxious to brag about their Failure to Fulfil?
