  1. A VERY unexpected mini gift from Pepper. Thank you, dey b so cute
  2. I have heard so much good about Garmins customer service, I'm almost hoping my 76CSX will have a problem! They almost sound too good to be true! ------Anxiously awaiting GPS failure
  3. Just bought a Delorme GPS for my laptop which came with Streetatlas 2006 and 2006 Handheld. Don't really even need this GPS, but you know...new toyz! I already have 2005 so I will give these out for a fair price. I accept Paypal, taking offers name your price
  4. I gotta get a couple of these! Very cool draco!
  5. But, bear in mind that Mapsource is just software and only comes with very minimal (non-routeable) map data. City Select or City Navigator must be purchased if you want higher quality routable maps and then can be loaded to your GPSr by using the Mapsource program. At the time you try to load the data, Mapsource will transmit the serial number of your GPSr to their web site and then allocate two unlock codes to you. One unlock code is good for that GPSr and the other unlock code can be used on another Garmin GPSr. For more GPSr's you will have to purchase additional unlock codes. Sorry, I should've been more specific. I purchased City Select (V6) when I purchased the 60CS. So my real question is, can I upgrade City Select V6 to work with the 60CSx or will I need to purchase a new version of City Select? That one will work, but you will need another unlock code for new gps device.
  6. That was my first unit and I loved it for what it was. Great for caching, just don't expect to get a whole lot of maps in it. I used topo and had plenty of maps for my area. For being an older model, and if it works with no bugs, that's a heck of a deal. Good job
  7. I bought the 76csx for $439 at Wally world dot com...then sent in the rebate so $339 total. Only took a week to arrive too
  8. You'll get results like that...the newer SIRF chips do a better job at getting signals through the trees.
  9. Looking for a copy of Mapsend TOPO. Any unwanted ones out there?
  10. That's all good and I can make a route on pc...but when it loads to gps it doesn't show the route, just a straight line.....
  11. I can create a route in metroguide, should I be able to upload it to my 76csx? I thought you could do that if you uploaded from pc, but just shows a straight line to my destination.
  12. Was kinda bummed when we received in the mail a 2 for 1 trade. We ended up with an activated coin that belongs to someone other than the person we traded with. Obviously by the track logs it is intended to travel Contacted the rightful owner to see what they want me to do with it. TRADERS BEWARE!
  13. That's the first thing that always pops into my head, but the Legend doesn't have a compass. My bad for refering the bearing pointer as being a compass...if it has an arrow and points, it's a compass to me Still, doesn't it need calibrated also, so it knows which way is which? Wife has the legend, but I haven't played with it much. I know I had to calibrate my old Sportrak Color though.
  14. One little thing I like with my 76CSx is when you enter a GOTO, the line drawn from your current position to your destination stays with you, as opposed to disappearing off the map when you drive down the road. Both units have great features. A geocaching friend of ours swears by Lowrance and Brunton, but when we compare units, I always like to point out that mine is slightly bigger than his
  15. Something many people forget is the compass needs to be calibrated EVERYTIME you replace the batteries. Hope that's all it is.....
  16. Never made it there...is it still on sale? Didn't see when it was over but would like to drive there today to get one if anyone knows (It's about 45 miles one way, don't wanna make a wasted trip). Thanx all.
  17. Somewhere on these forums I just read that only cards up to 1GB are supported......
