  1. I have a few issues with my Out & Back but this is not one of them. I have yet to fail to find a cache because my O & B stopped navigating when it reached ground zero. Once I reach that point a GPS becomes of little use and I began using geo-intuition to locate the hiding place. If I go too far from GZ the unit will start to navigate again and guide me back. I'm reminded of a saying about poor carpenters and their tools but I digress... MastahMatt I echo your thoughts on this being fundamental. As evidenced by the customer service actions of "EnduraExpert" Lowrance appears to be the kind of company that wants their products to be great rather than good. Certainly this board gives them an inexpensive way to get feedback they need if they want to be successful long term in the GC market. While I do not consider myself a master at the trade I am sure you are a fine carpenter.
  2. Today I generated 5 pq's to use around the metro area I live. I went and deleted the 4 other pq's that were on my out n back. I had downloaded the 1.4 update last week and it seemed to cure the multiple cache issue. When I added the 5 new queries, what do I find in the overlapping areas? Multiple copies of the caches displayed!! Do you suppose I have to download the update everytime I load new PQ's into my machine? Any thoughts?
  3. I find it hard to believe that is still a problem. I was looking forward to tackling a multi in the next day or two. I did the upgrade as well and am glad the duplicate cache issue is fixed. I find the 'destination reached' issue to be significant and wonder why this can't be fixed. Would hope the expert can help on this. Will this be another 4 months to fix in an upgrade? almost have to buy another unit to do a multi.
  4. Could not agree more with the frustration on multi cache locations. You might as well give up on trying a multi-cache with manual waypoint entering required. It really is a pain. In addition, the duplicate-cache issue when loading multiple pocket queries remains to be solved. Also seems that "Endura Expert" has become a bit silent.
  5. Yes, version 1.21 seems to have solved this issue. I have only tried to load 5 different PQ's, either by copying them directly to the internal memory or using the microSD card, and they will show up on the map page. I hope this helps. Was that a duplication issue? ( i.e. Two different GPX files dl'ed to the Endura unit with a common geocache and pq still do show up in the geocache category as duplicate geocaches). N I have not seen a duplication issue, where the same caches show up twice. This was an issue where if you imported more the 2 PQ's they would sometimes not show up on the map page, but would be listed in the cache listings. I have posted on this issue of duplicate caches. While they do not show up as dups on the map, they do in the list of caches. At times when travelling, I like to run more than one pocket query to cover a larger area. The dups take up space and make it harder to scroll as well. I have tried using a program such as watcher or GSAK (both linked to on the geocaching.com site) to merge the queries into one list and one file. When I export this file from the above programs with say 700 caches or so into the endura unit it does not show up in the list on the unit. It gives me the initial "loading caches" screen when I power up, but when I go to FIND and the Geocaches, there is nothing there. It lists a file in Windows Explorer as being present when the unit is connected to the computer. Any thoughts? Lanko21, I have noticed the duplication issue and have reported it as a bug to the programmers. It looks like if your have PQ's with overlapping areas the caches will show up twice. We are working on getting the software to filter out duplicates. Regarding the problem that you are seeing in trying to import a GPX file with 700 caches, there may be a problem with 700 caches. I have talked to another user that was having issues with a 1000 cache file. When he trimed the number down to less than 500 caches and it worked. I have reported this as a know issue as well. EE, any word on this issue?

  7. Was the issue of multiple caches showing up with two or more loaded pocket queries fixed?
  8. I have an Outnback. I did speak with customer service about several issues including multiple cache among others. I was told they had a meeting the next day and the issues would be brought up. They said I would recieve a reply in a day or two. That was two weeks ago and nothing....
  9. I have loaded pocket queries into GSAK and watcher in order to eliminate duplicates. When exporting as a .gpx file it does not pick up and load into the unit itself. Unit reads no caches found, when the file does show up in windows explorer on the unit when the unit is attached to the PC. I find the duplicates annoying. I do wish files from GSAK worked but again, the unit does not recognize them when I press FIND and then GEOCACHE. Have you tried? Do you have issues with duplicates?
  10. I have no reason to believe that GSAK would not work very well with the Endura. Simply output the caches you want to a GPX file on the Endura device in the GPX folder. I have not been able to get GSAK or Watcher to work on the endura.

  12. I have received an email from Lowrance wondering if inquiry I made on this weeks ago is still an issue. I replied with a resounding yes, yet no response. I assume their response is less than aggressive.
  13. I continue to have problems with duplicate caches on my Lowrance Endura OutnBack. Both GSAK and Watcher program export files (.gpx) do not open in the unit. They show up in the windows explorer folder but do not work on the unit. The only .gpx files that work are the ones straight from the pocket queries. Any thoughts or ideas? I live in a large metro area often want more than 500 caches on the unit. I wonder if this is a bug in the software? Why would a merged file from GSAK or Watcher not work if they are .gpx files? Any help or thoughts would be appreciated.
  14. Not sure I understand. GSAK exports in the GPX/LOC format. The file still does not load into the endura however, even in the gpx format like the exported pocket querie file does.
  15. I have the outback. I am loading the .gpx file from the pocket queries. If I have more than one querie and there are duplicates I am unable to avoid them showing twice. Can't use GSAK as it has no compatible export file. Any ideas or substitutes?
  16. I have the outback. I am adding the .gpx file from the pocket queries to the gpx folder on the unit. This works and the caches display fine. The problem I have is if I want more than one querie file that has duplicate caches the show twice on the endura unit as well. GSAK is not lowrance compatible (i emailed the guy who makes GSAK). Any ideas?
