  1. I hope you all have a wonderful time, but how about everyone doing the "no-rain-dance" for my daughter's OUTSIDE wedding tomorrow!!!!
  2. Another suggestion. A hike that's been on my To-Do list for some time is to Colchuck Lake. The hike is about 8 miles RT with a 2200 ft elevation gain. Take a look at this photo taken at the cache site. Take a look at the gallery too. ARGH! Colchuck has been on my to-do list for 4 years! I totally biffed it on my bad knee last week playing paintball (but I won thanks to the endo's) so it's been a lot more problematic then usual. I'm hoping it's temporary 'cuz there's a lot of hikes out there screaming my name (not to mention a 3 Day 60 mile walk...) I am assuming you'll wait until snow melts and you would consider closer to July?
  3. Believe it or not, given the chance, I'd do it in a heartbeat!
  4. I am organized so I felt compelled to fix that... That would be the diplomatic version of what I would have said...

    Snow?

I'd rather blame it on the "geo-ignorant spouse", he put the snow blower away, brought out the hoses and tilled the garden...dadgum him...

  7. Darn it, I'm in Naramata this weekend and Victoria the next. I think I'm going to have to sneak up there all alone on a weekday since my weekends are booked for a long time. I will probably do this hike early Friday morning so don't get any ideas about planting a new cache up there the next day!!!
  8. It was dropped along the way. It's nice to have it back. I was feeling a little lost without it. I see your back in the game. That's great. So when are you going to do Rooster Comb? I hiked up there yesterday and today after work. It's a nice evening hike to an awesome view. Let me know if you want to do it some evening and I'll go with you. I just got home from a Burch Mtn training hike (brrr...skiffs of snow up there!) and have Rooster's Comb to do as well. Would you consider an invitation from me to go up or is this a guy thing?
  9. I know I'm jumping the gun, but how long (time wise) will the Tiger Mtn hike be and what time do you plan on begining the hike? I'm giving it some serious consideration and I need to make sure I request that day off now. I work until at least 0100 and will get to bed and asleep ~0200 (if I push it) Sat AM then driving 2-2.5 hours after only a few hours of sleep really messes with my positive outlook on life. (hush Patudles, I do to have one ) I'll talk to the "geo-ignorant spouse" about his participation (AKA; chauffeuring)
  10. You know, he only wants to know because he had the same idea as I did... Hey Xy, good to see you out and about again. So the "The-one-who-must-be-obeyed" is lengthening your leash huh? Worthy news for the Cache'cadians, I have a training hike this weekend (Sunday), and perchance a little box to stash will be in my pack...
  11. Nuts. Here I was thinking I was going to finally tackle that cache with Rudy. The plan was to find your GPS, look at all your secret WP's, take note of them since they'll probably be some uber-difficult-mathy-make-my-head-spin-puzzle, find those caches, change your waypoints because I'm feeling fiesty(ier) today, then return it to you so you think I was a nice person. Dang. Some good Samaritan foiled my evil plot!!! Actually, I'm happy for you. I can't imagine losing my piece 'o turd GPSr (with missing buttons and all...) since I'm not going to get a new one until the 400t has all it's issues/bugs worked out. Once again, human kindness is demonstrated and we all are humbled by it. What an awesome feeling.
  12. Better hurry up there Nav, Gadget's gonna be on your tail before you know it! He passed me without so much as a "howdy" and a wave...
  13. We got home just a bit ago. We dilly dallied in Monroe for bit, bought some Irish Soda bread, had Indian food (YUMMY!) and sauntered over the pass (ok, I slept). The house smells fantastic from a brisket I put in a crock pot this morning. What an awesome ending to an already awesome day. We had a great time. This has got to be the biggest turnout yet. Hugs and Kisses to Allanon who made Mimosas. I'll catch you all in May!!!
  14. Now I've heard everything - sugary confections are now geocaching! From Wiki: "They are made from marshmallow, sugar, gelatin, and carnauba wax".
  15. I'm sorry to hear about your ankle, but if you were to be waiting at the start/finish, I think Mimosas in the AM and Margueritas/beers at the end... You know, Frito pie is so 2007...
  16. I'm there! Oh, and yes I did have to work today, but I begged off because of a back injury...which will be better by the HOTM (assuming I stop lifting people...) The geo-ignorant spouse may be inclined to join me since I took him to a rockin' cache in NOLA (roof of a 40 story building ) and now he's beginning to think this hobby may in fact be ok. Hey Prying Pandy should have the day off too... Whereabouts are you looking for this hike? -R-
  17. Seeing how the scheduling gods seems to hate me at work and I am working every Friday from now to eternity, is it possible to get some Sunday hikes? (BTW, ziplining in Belize was the ****!!!)
  18. Pretty sure it seems to be in my backyard....
  19. Let's see...<flipping through her calendar....> the 23rd...hmmm... Gee, would you look at that? It appears that I'm scheduled for deck chair #72 (the one between the pool and bar) on the Lido deck... Nope, don't think I can reschedule so you may have to go without me...
  20. If Patudles promises to behave herself, I may drag her sorry "you-know-what" along. Who know, I may need someone to put the chains on the car if the passes are real bad.... (awaiting the flame)
  21. Heading south in 2 weeks for New Orleans and beyond (Roatan, Belize, Guatemala, Cancun). If any TB's need a ride, I'll be happy to swing over to the "wet" side and pick them up. I plan (if the passes allow) to come over next Friday the 15th (ROAD TRIP!!!) to do a little caching if there is a need to pick any TB's up. Let me know if you want to join me caching/drinking/eating or have any TB's to pick up! Robin
  22. I may be a little dense, but I believe I detect a little sarcasm.... Would it help if I "thought" of all of you???
  23. Moved to Sunday 2/17... Location TBD This is the last time it gets moved. I can't go backwards as I've already committed the free days to other things. About the only thing consistant is the location has yet to be determined. Saturday 2/23 is the final date. I am planning a snowshoe hike to justify these snowshoes. You hate me don't you? Somehow somewhere I pissed you off... My only consolation, I'll be on a cruise ship somewhere between Belize and Honduras. Got any TB's that need to head south (where it's warm?)
  24. Moved to Sunday 2/17... Location TBD Aw man, I work so few weekend days and of course that is the one I'm scheduled for this month! But I am going snowshoeing in Revelstoke (Rogers Pass) THIS weekend, so I'll think of you!
