  1. Thanks to both of you. I think i will stick to GPSTrackmaker, because it's free . ExpertGPS is very good too, but I'm not going to pay 60$ just for this feature, and I don't need the other features that are provided.
  2. I would like to have a software that can give me the coordinates on a map. I imagine it would work like this: you open an image file (the map), select two positions with known coordinates, and the north direction, or three positions, enter the respective values, and the software does the rest, from that it can tell you the coordinate of any given point. Is there such thing out there (preferably freeware)? If not, I'm thinking about writing it myself.
  3. If you refered to me, then I challenge you, as an initiate to explain me. I don't see why would I ever find that funny, even if I am around the forum for another 10 years, and with thousands of posts. BTW this is not off topic at all, because if that topic is considered funny, and successful, let's see the reason why it is so.
  4. I don't get this. Why is the "Hand on chin" topic funny? It's just a bunch of people and other things that have hands on their chin. So?
  5. Yes, attrackting tourists from outside the country is a good thing, but the main idea would be to have the locals take up the initiative, because not many foreign people will place caches here. A couple of days ago I placed a cache near my home (it is not yet listed on the site because we want to be sure, that the location is good), and I put the indication in english, romanian, and hungarian too, because there are lots of hungarians here.
  6. I'm from Romania. Is there any cacher from my country who reads this forum? I would like to increase the cache number here too, but can't do it all by myself. So if anyone can help me with it, post your thoughts here.
  7. In my country, Romania there are very few caches, and they get pretty lonely. For ex. the one at Ilva http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.asp...7&lon=25.122533 has it's closest at 68.1 miles. I plan to increase the number of the caches here.
