  1. Nothing to fear here Alan, our papers cover different patches. PM sent
  2. To answer the question about smartphone GPS accuracy, I've found 325 caches and not once touched a GPSr. They've all been with either my old Nokia 6220 Classic or my new HTC Hero. I've not had the opportunity to compare the two side by side and I would assume a GPSr is more accurate but I am a huge advocate of mobile phone caching and it's never caused me any problems in all the time I've been at it.
  3. I have seen all the third partly apps available and use the one mentioned above, along with another one I gather I'm not allowed to mention. I'm very eagerly awaiting the official one and will be downloading it as soon as it's (finally) released. The reason I fancied trying out the new Google Maps app is because I currently have caches loaded in to my tomtom for when I'm out and about in the car to spot cache and dashes, but it would seem this new app will do away with the need for that.
  4. Sorry if this has been discussed before, I couldn't find it if so, but Google updated its Maps app for Android phones recently and it's brilliant as a sat-nav, but I was wondering if anyone on here might know whether it will have a facility for integration with PQs or even will be able to display all the UK geocaches? I've got an Android phone but I'm having to wait for a firmware update before I can use the new system. If you haven't seen it yet it's all described here: http://www.google.com/mobile/navigation/ Looks very exciting.
  5. I've used the HTC Hero for my last 50 or so caches, I don't have a standalone and have never seen the need for one. It's a LOT better than my Nokia 6220 Classic, which was very good. The GPS is brilliant and the big screen helps enormously. Only main gripe is software availability. Geobeagle is good, [reference to unauthorized application removed by moderator], but like most Android users I'm very excited about the prospect of the new Groundspeak app. I recommend the HTC to anyone. It's the clever man's iphone.
