  1. We are moving to South Carolina in a week (12/15/2012), and we need someone to agree to adopt our caches so they don't get archived. 2. We found the box last night, and the serial number along with that, we had not registered the unit because we just got it, but I can't seem to register it without plugging it into the USB, which obviously we don't have the unit to do that. Is there any other way to register it so that no one else can??
  3. I've heard that the serial number for some Garmin models is on the box or in the pamphlets that the GPS comes in. This is NOT a caching GPS, just a regular road GPS. It's a Garmin Nuvi 1490T and I need some help finding the serial number because ours was stolen this morning and I need to report it to the police so that hopefully we can get it back before it's too late! Thanks
  4. According to my profile, I've gotten 239 caches, but when I do a MyFinds PQ, it only comes back with 209 caches that I've found. I can't figure it out. I have any type, any container, that I have found, within all states, from no origin, placed during (none selected), and no attributes selected. Can anyone help? I've never had a problem before with this.
  5. Just saw your post: Hubby and I started caching last year, we would definitely be interested in a group/club in NWI as we agree the Chicago venues are too far to travel.
  6. For those who have camp site reservations made, what is your site number so that we can request one in the same general area if there are any left....we are considering tenting, but are still not sure
  7. Thanks for all the replies. It is NOT a local cacher, nor anyone who would like to prevent a FTF on my behalf, so perhaps it is a "local" rule for that person. None the less, thanks for all the responses.
  8. When a new cache is reported as being published, are there any rules as to when it can be found? I've heard that no matter what time of day it was published, it's not allowed to be found until 5am the following morning. If anyone can shed some light on this as to if it's a myth or a rule, please do so. If it's a rule, please point me to the link. Thanks!

    ISQ Finds

Just in case anyone is interested, I have bookmarked all of the ISQ's on my profile and grouped them into counties that are for the most part next to/around each other. I did this more so for myself so that while traveling I could see what counties we would go through and just be able to click on the list and know which ones were on the way. Anyway, feel free to use them!
  10. Assuming we can get a sitter for that day or 2, I think Kevin and I would be interested. I tried to search FB for the event, but nothing came up, can you put a link on here for it ? Thanks!
  11. Haven't seen anyone actually doing the nasty, but more so making out. We were at a county park and had not been there before. As we were getting out and setting up the stroller, this couple walked past us and asked if we had been there before. We told them no and they went on their way through the park. When we finished with the stroller and got the GPS pointing in the right direction, we headed off. As we get around this large barn, we see them making out and immediately we turned back. We went to get another cache in the same park instead. As we were finishing up with the second cache, and getting into our car, the same couple "came up for air" and headed into their separate cars. They left and we followed. We figured it was probably an affair, because each car took off in different directions, and it was lunch time.
  12. Me and Kevinjunior_2000 are in Lake Station, IN....I know there are a few more from here...but we have yet to meet that we know of We have been caching since Feb of this year and have almost 75 in. Kevin works swing shift, so our caching days are very sporadic, and we typically get in as many as we can on his days off. We have 2 kiddos, one will be 6 in July and the other is 5 months old. They are almost always with us unless we are doing trails or somewhere that wouldn't be rather quick. We will be attending the CITO event at the Dunes on Saturday if anyone else is coming.
  13. I think as long as you let people know what they may be getting themselves into, its not necessarily a bad idea. Me personally, if you place a cache in a trashy area that also has trash around it, I won't even bother looking for the cache. I feel it's best in my own personal interest not to "wade" through garbage. If there's a bit of litter here and there, I try to pick up as much as I can, but I will not risk putting my health in jeopardy.
  14. It was a great weekend for caching! We (me and Kevinjunior_2000) made 13 finds of 22 total caches. We also were able place 2 new ones, and each got our first FTF's! Thank goodness the rain held out until early this morning Happy June!
  15. Voted 2 times, one for me and one for hubby...we're under 30
