  1. Na, you want one of these. I'm sure this would fulfill the requirement of every geoslasher around. April the 1st anyone ?
  2. Unfortunately no, although you have re-ignited the fire for me to get one there.
  3. There used to be a sign located at a crossing in a school near to me for children with special needs that stated: "Slow children crossing". Needless to say, it has since been replaced.
  4. Yes, I believe it would constitute a commercial cache. I also found the following in the same document: ------------------------ Caches will be quickly archived if we see the following (which is not inclusive): Caches near or under public structures deemed potential or possible targets for terrorist attacks. These include but are not limited to highway bridges, dams, government buildings and airports. ------------------------ So there's no possibility of the cache being located "in" an airport, even in the unlikely event that the airport might agree to it. I guess it's back to the drawing board.
  5. I'm not entirely sure if this would work since most airlines ask about being given things by other people. Having a TB hotel located at the airport would be quite ironic. You can imagine the response, "Yes, I got this travel bug, which may or may not contain a kilo of smack from behind the information desk". I don't think they're going to facilitate potential drug smuggling, or allow the storage of DIY pipe bomb TBs - this is how they'd see it unfortunately. I've witnessed enough reports of hotels being archived because of security issues. Nevertheless it's worth a crack. I'm always weary about transporting larger travel bugs abroad. Geocaching is taking over my life but it isn't worth life in a Thai prison. Mike.
  6. Well, I sent them an email detailing my proposal two days ago and I've yet to get a response. I'm probably going to have to phone them up or go there in person.
  7. Has anybody in the Bristol area thought about setting up a travel bug hotel near Bristol airport ? There's a pub within spitting distance called the "Airport Tavern" which also convieniently provides airport parking. I'm thinking about contacting them to see if they would provide space for an ammo box behind the bar. Mike.
  8. Yes, along with others. Three DNF's in a row for Victoria Park. It's either very well hidden, gone, or the coordinates are off. It's currently sitting at a 25% success rate at the moment. I'll have another crack at it tomorrow and widen the search. I know I've entered the right cache location into the GPS. If I fail again I'm going to blame it on the equipment
  9. Yep, that's the road I ended up on. My leather jacket has a broken zip, so I was freezing me nuts off for the 4 mile 70 mph journey towards Weston. I complete ignored the "B4532 (or whatever it was) to Bristol" sign as I convinced myself I hadn't been on that road to get to the pub in the first place. Having found my way back to Bristol I chose not to go towards Bedminster as my intention was to go and find the Micro in Victoria Park. Going left instead of right (towards Bedminster) takes you to Ashton Gate, miles away from Victoria Park. At this point my hands were frozen and I was in desperate need for the loo , so I simply gave up and went home. Victoria Park is today's task.
  10. Yes, nice to have met you all. Couldn't make the new caches in the end owing to my ability of still not being able to navigate Bristol's own spaghetti junction at Long Ashton - I'm not even sure if a TomTom would help. Anyway it was nice to finally see some of you, and I look forward to Lundy 2005, not just for the caching but also for the birdspotting. My wife and I would love to go just to see some puffins. Hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Mike.
