  1. anne.and.eli posted as well stating the following: "Today I received a package and this missive from Miskatonic University, in Arkham, MA. This is troubling indeed, and I fear I must consider my next step carefully." My response was: "WOW--sounds rather ominous!!! I think the "tokens" are really cool-- but, that's the sort of stuff that intrigues me!!! I wouldn't mind if they showed up in my mailbox!!! Wonder if they are a new Mystery Coin---huuummm???" Maybe these threads will merge to protect us further!!!

  3. I rarely respond to posts, but this one just got to me. *NOT EVERYONE HAS A SMART PHONE. *Some cachers don't have time to log when on a road trip as some may need to SLEEP when they stop at a hotel. *Many cachers find 50 or more caches and some get hundreds in a day. *Some cachers wait weeks to log finds/trackables. *There are many reasons why cachers may not be able to log the same day-- such as NO internet, computer problems, etc.... ***THIS IS A GAME and NOT EVERYONE PLAYS IT THE SAME WAY!!! You are the one who needs to have some mercy!!! Here is a copy/ paste of your yearly finds: Year Total Caches Find Rate 2008 18 0.5625 caches/day 2009 112 0.3068 caches/day 2010 225 0.6164 caches/day 2011 47 0.1288 caches/day 2012 57 0.1557 caches/day 2013 35 0.1892 caches/day Slow down and you may enjoy life and caching more!!! As stated before, caching is a game!!! GeoCharmer81
  4. Congrats to Beverly and, again, a big THANK YOU to Dr. Neal!!!
  5. As others have said, quite a bit of thought has gone into my answer. I'm a saver-- and some of my friends call me a "hoarder"!!! May be true. But, how can you call saving memories and (lots of) books hoarding??? After knowing my pets were safe, the item I'd grab is a duffle bag containing memories of my parents including my Dad's Flag, his Dad's Citizenship Document, pictures of my family and me, my parents rings, camera memory cards, my Baby Book, my first Teddy Bear and some other memorabilia from my parents. If I still had time to rescue more "things," I would gather a picture my uncle painted, my collection of approximately thirty books that have been signed to me by their authors, and, my small, but signed collection of Harmony Kingdom figurines. While typing this it occurs to me that I've got many things that hold special memories for me because of who or where they've come from. Certainly, some of the things can be replaced, but the memories will stay with me forever. I've enjoyed reading what the other folks have posted, too!!! MANY THANKS to DrNeal for this Cointest as it makes us think of what is really important in life-- our FAMILIES, FURRY FAMILIES and FRIENDS!!!

  12. I learned of these on the dreaded e-site as well. Pics don't do them justice!!! Liked them so much, I was able to find two. Sorry folks--mine and don't plan to sell or trade!!! P.S. They have a Buzzard on them and I collect Buzzards!!!
  13. YEAH YANAGI!!! Wonderful to see you have received your Mission!!! Thanks again to Claire for this Mission-- now she can have "closure"!!!!!! Maybe if we start a Thanksgiving (November in the USA) Mission NOW, everyone will have their Missions in time!!! I've gone back to my usual TV snack--sunflower seeds in the shell!!!
  14. AWWW--I saw yanagi's post and was expecting to hear good news. Don't give up hope!!!
  15. I hope I'm in Florida when this Event comes together!!! As for the Icon question, I believe many coin enthusiasts would want a unique icon. Since you seem to only expect to have a small quantity of Coins, you really need to consider costs of a unique icon. I also believe many cachers who attend an Event appreciate a Coin as a remembrance. As long as it is trackable (at Geocaching.com)some will not care if there is a unique icon. As with anything, there will be lots of different opinions!!! I'd want a Coin as long as it was trackable, no matter if it had the unique icon or not!!! All the best for the planning and execution of the Event and Coin!!!
  16. LOVE the design-- HOPE to add one or more to my collection!!!

  18. LOVE those samples, Doc!!! The others are cool, too, but can't compare to Kathy's Coin Too!!!
  19. No Raspberry for me--will stay with popcorn But, the new Mission should be called BIGGEST OPTIMIST for always having HOPE!!!
