I've got adoption message from my friend. I have clicked the link which is http://www.geocaching.com/adopt/?guid=c572841b-2227-4918-bc18-56d9deb4b069 The result is like following. But this is wrong. guid=c572841b-2227-4918-bc18-56d9deb4b069 is not "NamHanSan #6" You can check here : http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=c572841b-2227-4918-bc18-56d9deb4b069 And I have tested with http://www.geocaching.com/adopt/, the result is the same. There must be some error in the system. Min

GSAK send waypoints... change symbols
bluesky61 replied to bluesky61's topic in GPS technology and devices
Yes, there is. A. use a Groundspeak compatible GPX file for exporting your unfound caches. B. send your found caches with the help of Garmin's Poi Loader (or do a GSAK Poi Export). C. send your owned caches with the help of Garmin's Poi Loader (or do a GSAK Poi Export). Parts B and C will give you the choice for using your own icons. Part A automatically generates appropriate cache type icons based on the type tag <type>Geocache|Virtual Cache</type> Hans I already know the process you mentioned, but I want to more simple process. Just one button to send and go! Anyway thank you very much. -
Hi, Yesterday I bought Oregon 650, which can store unlimited Geocaches. So I just send all the geocaches in Korea (total around 8000), it works. Great!! However, the symbol is not as I expected, that is, I can't distinguish my found or my placed. So I have searched here and there, and according to gsak help( http://gsak.net/help/hs8100.htm ), there's way to change symbols. However I couldnt find the 'change symbols' option, in 8.4.0.0. Anyway, I just want see geocaches like geocaching.com map. Is there any "simple' way? Thanks in advance. Min

I need help deciding what size my new cache should be.
bluesky61 replied to TeamTwoStar's topic in General geocaching topics
I would say "Other". You can explain in the description. -
Hi, I would like to place a unknown cache, which needs to know something about our country. (I live in foreign country, temporarily) I requested some information(picture and coodinates) to local geocachers. As a return, I would like to give the cachers the right to log as Found. Is it possible to log that way? Signing without visiting is against the rule, or not? There can be some guideline, then I would like to know it. Thanks in advance.

Same as Korean input. As far as I know, all the Asian character has same problem.

I have made a cache listing, and wanted to include Korean. Usually we converted the Korean into UNICODE, and then include it in the listing. The result should be Korean characters in cache listings. However, the UNICODE has broken and turned into just "????". Maybe recent upgrades of the site cause it. Please check it for me.

Thank you all (specially martinbryn) for nice ideas. The following is the final. The transparent board is acryl, and it turned into semi-transparent after applying instant glue. I think this is good for me even if it is an accident. Thanks again for your kindness. -

Not depoloyed yet, but I am preparing maze related cache. Some part of idea came from martinbryn (#5111). Thanks him for great idea. At first visitors solve following maze, and calculate final coordinate. At the final coordinate, they can see following container. Seems like normal lock&lock box, but open it then : The logsheet is in nano capsule, which is put into the maze upper right. It can be out at lower left hall, upper right hall is so tight that it can't go out. However, as you can see, the maze is too simple, so anybody can get it within 1 minute. So I think another option like following. The visitors can hardly see through it, so it can be difficult to take out. ====== So what do you think the best out of following 3 options? 1. transparent 2. white 3. white with hint (layout) I am soory that my English is not good, but your help will be highly appreciated.
