  1. Wow! This is really cool. We are looking around as we may be moving to the Rapid City area. Nebraska should learn from this rather then being so stingy about Geocaching in parks, but again, with all the taxes they collect they don't need any visitors.
  2. Could any one tell me if it is possible and who to contact if we need the tag # from A Jeep TB? This weekend I picked one up and quickly transferred to a cache 75 miles away but when I got home to log it, I had forgotton to get the TB#. I do have the reference # TBH28R.. The Jeep site has no contact information. Thank you!
  3. I think the entire contest is centered around Jeeps and Geocaching. Therefore, you want some of both in the picture. Since the contest has to do with the TBs, I'm assuming that the TB should be the Jeep that is in the picture. I'm sure many people will take pictures with the TB and their jeep, but it might not be as wise to do the same with the TB and another brand of vehicle. I don't know any of that for sure, but I would be willing to bet that those are the types of pictures the judges will be looking for. McWeb But my Suburban is just a Jeep on steroids Yep!! And my Yellow MINI Cooper is a Lowrider JEEP!!
  4. Does the proper Magellan one have some sort of resister to step down the voltage or can it be directly connected to 12 volts? (the 4th contact not used by the cable that came with my unit.) Thanks!
  5. Two, The Magellan Sportrak Pro, And the one factory installed in my MINI Cooper S. I wish I could find some hints how to change the formats in the MINI (BMW) unit. It is noce, color and finds addresses and more but in the split screen mode you can only see coords in deg.min.sec.
  6. I just bought the New Magellan Sportrak Map and love the features. Paid about 160 at Nebraska Furnature Mart and also got the $30 rebate from the website. You can upload waypoints, backtrack, mark, etc. The memory is great (up to 500 waypoints) which is more than I'll ever need and you can upload a vast variety of software such as topo and other Magellan firmware. There are optional powrsupply cords for the car and comes with a cable for the PC. There is also a USB connector you can buy for use with your laptop.
  7. Thanks, Points well taken!! I think first I'll get my self in order down here and perhaps with my business I'll run into someone in that territory that may want to take the responsibiliy. When I move to Omaha I'll work on that then.. For now, I can't wait to do some traveling, and hopefully sooner than later use the existine central Nebraska caches as a great reason to take the long way home. This year is going to be the busiest of my life. New business, getting married, finishing this house....
  8. Is there a way to sort or rank the most visited cach's in the US? I am also curious of the least.. Possible?
  9. I was looking at the map and thought it would be nice to see a few more around the Nebraska Nat'l Forest area and around Ord (where my mom's side of the family is from). For those who don't know the area, central and NW Nebraska has many areas worth visiting. Since I am new to geocaching, this will encurage me to try to visit some of these remote locations this summer. As much as I drive through Nebraska (although I live in Dallas, Tx), I think I could legitimately maintain 2 or 3 locations. I would choose a place for canoe folks on the dismal river!
  10. Hello everyone. This is my first post and I am proof positive that the article was effective. I live in Dallas, TX and subscribe to Nebraskaland as I have always had a lot of interests in my home state. Well, that article caused me to check this out and this weekend I looked up this site. Although I don't have a GPS receiver, I do have one built into my MINI Cooper, so today I drove to a few of the sites in the Dallas area on my way to my customers. I am planning on putting together a kit to start finding these and I even thought about getting our car club involved. I am moving to Omaha next year and will be there for a visit later next week so I'll have to visit a few.. One question. Could you put a cache in the Fontinelle Forest? That would be a good place. Well, I am excited! I can't wait to get started. I'll have to start one in Dallas with a travel bug to go to Omaha!! MS
