GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife)

When I click on the custom url for terraserver, I am not getting a waypoint marker on the photo. What am I doing wrong? How can I get a marker? Thanks. -
There has been a TB listed in one of my caches for 2 months, but as logs point out - it isn't there. I opened my cache page and clicked on the TB. Was sent to a page with one option: Mark TB as missing. I clicked Yes. TB is still on the page. What should I do/have done? Any help is appreciated. When I searched for this topic I saw several similar things but they all showed the cache owner with 3 options, I only had one.

I use this custom url for the terraserver view (2 meters): http://terraserver.microsoft.com/image.asp...at&Lon=%lon&w=1 Any way I can get a waypoint marker to autoload into the photo? Thanks for anyone's help. -

Who is Duane, and where did he go? -
There is a similar cache in Indianapolis that avoids the "hiding food" problem - just take it to the food bank!: Can You Log This Cache

My Own Little Impotent Rant
Muirwoody replied to New England n00b's topic in General geocaching topics
I had to think about this problem when I set out this cache: Think Like A Vegan II It is at the listed coordinates, but the cacher needs to translate something from the page first, or they won't be able to unlock the cache box. Using a pda myself, I have been burned on a few caches that required me to do something first, so I know the pain. I put the requirement very early in the description so that they could see it and avoid it if needed. But they still do need to at least read the description before going to the coordinates. -
RK, Thanks. Since none of my caches are MOC, that explains why I have never seen it.
-
Could you explain what this is and where to access it, etc. Thanks.

Works great on my Motorola T730. As far as bookmarking - the Motorola is a slow process. I have to find the menu item that says my bookmarks, then start. It gives me an "add bookmark" as one option, then i have to type in the name. Then it asks me to enter the URL, then it asks me if I want to move it to "my bookmarks" Everythings is "yes' and I'm ready to go.

You have to be careful with autorouting and caches. I have looked for caches that happened to be near an interstate and the autoroute (on road) kept telling me to get on the interstate when I knew i shouldn't. Some times if a street backs up near the back side of a park where a cache is hidden the autoroute will send you to that street. It doesn't recognize the parks parking lot 1 mile from the cache. It thinks the neighborhood street is better and closer. These problems usually happen when I am out caching "cold" with no research beforehand. Has caused me lots of headaches!!

The new version works great. Now here's my "dream" request: Highlighting the GC code name and clicking a satellite icon brings up the 2m satellite image from terraserver or the likes which can then be exported to other apps. I usually download these images individually before a days huntand export them from Picture Gear into my Sony pda - a time-consuming process that I would like some help with. Just a dream I know..... -
You can go to here and click on Acme Mapper and enter your zip code to see where the exact center of a zip code is.
-
Read the the recent logs. Have other people been finding it? Is there a hint on the page that you can decrypt? Keep Looking - if they were all easy it wouldn't be any fun! Don't forget to log those "did not finds" Good Luck!
-
It is probably showing you caches out from a radius from the zip you entered, including zip codes farther out.

I'm on the north side of Indianapolis where I have placed 6 caches in the Broad Ripple/Nora/Keystone Crossing area. I have a 7th cache about 15 miles south.

I'm in Indiana. Most of mine have been approved by Mountain Climber. I have also had Tennessee Geocacher and Purple Moose approve my caches. I don't think I've gone over a few hours for approval with any of eight caches. Excellent.

I see this sometimes and never have figured out what "troll" means. Help?

When I started caching a few months ago I came to the forums and looked to see what those abbreviations meant. Since those were what I saw on the cache page logs, those are what I started using. It was "Hey..we have our own code we are SUPPOSED to use" I played along and did the same thing. Other new cachers might be in the same pattern...people repeat what they see first because they think it's correct - not because they want to "diss" the cache.

..and your Black Lagoon doesn't look lame to me. I would do it if I was there and not in Indiana.
-
...never mind.. Edit: had wrong answer
-
"lame" usually means not very challenging, not different, too easy, done a thousand times, does nothing to add to the hobby. Some peoples idea of "lame" is different than others, though. An example of lame is usually given as a magnetic key holder cache stuck on a light post in a busy parking lot. But some people like those, so who knows?
