  1. I've just noticed that 5 of my active caches are listed as being "last updated" today rather than when I actually did. 5 still have their actual updated dates correct. One now is listed as approved by a different approver than who actually did. Something going on?
  2. uh..never mind. Now it's showing the warning right. Maybe it takes a few minutes for the server to add the lines?
  3. I needed to temporarily inactivate a cache this morning. I posted a note explaining why I needed to disable it. I clicked the temporarily disable button and saw the "red words" This cache isn't available..... I checked the zip code pages and it shows the cache "lined out" but when I check the actual page it still shows active - no red word lines - and still gives me the option to click to temporarily disable. I have logged off my PC and back on to clear the IE cache. Ideas?
  4. Did you use your mouses scroll wheel on the page? Sometimes when you're using "drop down boxes" to select countries, states, etc. if you aren't careful and use your mouse's scroll wheel after your selection (before you unclick out of the drop down box) you end up scrolling to a different name in the drop down box. If you don't catch it...you just changed your selection. That could be what happened.

His finds are all in Indiana so he's probably talking about the DNR rules discussed in the thread here: Proposed DNR Rule thread
  6. What exactly are you trying to put on the cache page?
  7. Sounds good. I'm in the Broad Ripple/Nora area, but would travel (...and probably end up getting lost )
  8. In the new maintenance release, when sorting by bearing it now sub-sorts by distance - great, I always wanted this. But I've noticed the sub-sort only holds up for about one-half of the bearing sort. For example, after I sort by bearing I have 20 subsorted by East that are in perfect order by distance, then the last half by bearing are all over the place by distance. this is for all bearfing points. How's that happening?
  9. That would explain it. I'll compare my forum activity with the topics and verify it. Thanks.
  10. When I select a topic to track in the forums I am supposed to get an email when there is a reply - correct? I notice I only get about 1 out of each 4 replies. The percentage decreases the longer I track the topic. I know my email/spam is working properly, because I do get some notifications. Any idea what's up? Thanks.
  11. I paid $4 today to cache in a state park. I spent about 5 hours there and found 9 caches - all good ones and lots of hiking in beautiful wooded areas. That works out to about 44 cents per cache - well worth it to me
  12. One thing I don't like after posting a dnf is when the next one to find seems to want to make a point of it by logging something like, "Don't understand why Muirwoody couldn't find it..my 2 year old found it in 3 minutes..." Thanks for pointing that. out to everyone..
  13. Wow.. I just looked mine up. 33 DNFs since starting around April 1. At 163 finds, that means I get 1 DNF for every 5 finds. 20%
  14. Where can I see my DNF page? I don't know how to call it up.
  15. I thought when I was reading my cache logs the other night that I recognized the name Neos from somewhere..but couldn't put my finger on it. Now I remember this thread. I hadn't suggested any of my caches because they are generally far north of the downtown area you were looking for. And as it turned out, you did two of mine. Glad you enjoyed them. Hope your friend joins the hobby.
  16. I have called up a picture of the 20 closest caches to Lake Monroe's zip code. I'm planning a trip to do some caching. Anyone have any thoughts on any that are "musts"?
  17. Whoever closed my duplicate topic...thanks...I hadn't seen this one. I'm still curous as to why this is only happened in the last week or so. I have always been able to use the forward and back buttons before. The "right click, new window" works of course, but I'm still puzzled.
  18. Here's what's going on: From the main website page I do a zip code search for caches and it brings up the first 10 pages. I scroll through the pages. Whenever I click to look at a specific cache and then click "back", I get the IE "This page can't be displayed..." page. I have to click "refresh" which takes me back to the very first zip code page. This is new behavior in the last week or so. It's irritating. It's probably my setup, not the site, but what could it be?
  19. Also, off to the far right of the topic is a place that says "Last Post" and says who posted it. Click on "Last Post" and it will take you there.
  20. I always log them. Last Sunday I logged 3 DNFs and 3 finds - certainly the worst "percentage" day I've had since starting. I always like reading the logs of cachers who say "Took me 4 times to find this one..." but there aren't any DNF's for them online. It doesn't mean you're a bad cacher if you can't find one, it could mean you're insecure if you don't log it.
  21. Ok, I took the bait and looked at your profile...we'll round up and say you started 3 years ago. Doubling adds 6 to your age. Using Jeremy's info average of 38. Would have been 76 - probably about average for male in the US. Now would be 41- doubling would be 82 - getting away from the expected norm. Close?
  22. I don't know if this will help, but in the Cachmate export box that GSAK brings up do you see 2 boxes - one that says 'PDB file to create" and one below it that says"Select from most recent" ? The first time you do a creation you have to give the direction to your palm device "install" toolbox. As an example, try this (except put your name in the right spot). c:\Program Files\Sony Handheld\YournameyourPcuseshere\Backup\cachmate.pdb You might check the direction of something else that you back up to get it just right. Good luck. Edit: I have a Sony handheld, so your device will have another name unless it's a Sony - use that one.
  23. There is an event today in socal here: 10/23/ Event Maybe you could get it there in time. My bug from Indiana is there (still trying to get north)
