There are free maps for the garmin units here: http://www.gpsfiledepot.com/maps/ These are not routeable and there are no Topo maps for your state yet. I use these maps on my unit and they work fine. What are the better maps to get for the Garmin60sx besides the basemap already installed? Is it best to buy the SD map cards from Garmin's website? Maybe an obvious question to a lot of you but being a newbie I would appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Welcome! My advice to you, and some might not agree, but find as many caches as you can before you hide any. Get a feel for what works and what doesn't. Once you have done this, Go for it! Have fun! StaticTank Thanks, I have found 18 caches so far and yes I am still getting a feel for it. I plan on just searching and discovering for a while before I decide to hide. I am fairly new to geocaching yet once I got the hang of it I have become addicted! Just wanted to introduce myself and say hi. I know I have lots to learn and I appreciate all the free info and advice to be found here. Looking forward to getting to know more about geocaching and the caching enthusiasts.
