  1. Honestly, I don't care about FTFs, sure they're nice but, it's all the same to me. The only time I ever cared about a FTF was when the CO put $10 in it as a FTF prize. I rushed over there... and STF! I log all my FTF the same way, just for consistency. I don't care if its a lamp post or I have to climb a tree, I log all of my FTFs the same: FTF 10:25 AM other text about the cache down here
  2. Never under-estimate the power of band-aids. See my log (FTF) on GC1VKXQ.
  3. For me its: Oh no, not a guardrail! - There is a cacher in my area who puts these tiny little containers (well camo'd) on guardrails next to busy roads. I hate searching around guardrails on busy roads. Oh no, not a high-profile location! In front of a store, or in a bush next to a real busy intersection. Oh no, not under a bench! I hate searching under the bench, and usually there is someone sitting on it when I get there... Oh no, not zip tied to a pine tree! For some reason I hate these caches. They take a while to find, and all the while you're getting poked! Again, there is a cacher in my area who loves these hides. - As for playgrounds, I hate those too. There is this one cache near me that is in a playground. It's missing now, and goes missing a lot, probably from kids finding it. Fortunately, when I went to search for it, the park was empty... Forgot to add that I hate caches under bridges!
  4. I've found a couple in telephone poles, they are quite popular around here. I found a tennis ball (hollowed out) under a light-pole skirt. I've found a couple magnets too... There is a local cacher who likes to drill holes in sticks, then put really small tubes in them. Then put them in the middle of the woods, and watch people DNF it. He's also got a hide in a gravel pit, in front of a Lowe's, the container has gravel glued to the top of it, and is sunk in the ground. I've found a fake rock once... didn't take long to find it, would have been faster if the coords were correct... There was one, under a light pole... I don't know how to explain it... it was like a giant magnet attached to the base, but it blended right in. Electrical plates are getting common around here too. There also is a local cacher who likes to hollow out big bolts (like the head screws off) and then she puts them in trashy areas so they blend right in. I've found a fake sprinkler head once too... it took me 3 tries.
