  1. Make sure your 330 is turned on before connecting to pc.
  2. Fair question. My urban canyon experience is limited, however crawling on my belly in Florida swamp is not. My Oregon changes it's mind constantly in tree cover. Even if you set it on the ground, it will vary 3-25 ft. If doing a slow creep, lets say 400m., your trail looks likes your signing your name through the bushes. I'm only saying the 60 seems to be more constant. In the open they seem to be equal. My point however is, I have had my gps stop working at the worst time possible. Not geocaching, but operating a fuel oil barge across the Gulf of Mexico. It happens. That's why I have three aboard at all times! Best regards. Capt. BP
  3. I have both units as well. I'm finally getting the bugs worked out of my Oregon 400t, except Oregon flouders in tree cover. The Oregon is more user friendly as well. If you can afford it, have both. It has been my experience that one may stop working at the worst time.
  4. GPS map 60CSx at Walmart $293.00 (online). Oregon 400t Walmart, check price online as it changes weekly.
  5. Thank you for replying, I have been reading and reading and I'm not a heck of a lot wiser, I perferably would like one that works well for travel and geocaching, I would like to keep it under $300, but I would prefer to buy one that I won't outgrow too soon. I will probably do more that aren't in the bush and major hiking., I guess that's why I was hoping to use a normal gps but!!! Where in BC do u have family? I'm obviously from Kamloops...
  6. I would think twice about the Oregon. Garmin has struggled to handle many issues. I know because I have one. Im currently running version 2.98, and no matter where I'm at the compass bounces and it hates any kind of tree cover. I had to send my first one back because it dumped the base maps, and the replacement (refurbished) would not boot at all because the battery terminals were faulty. Garmin promised next day delvery on a new one, and I got it a week later. Reproducability on the new unit is ok. I'm trying to ascertain if the present day 60csx is equipped with the same technology of old. Meaning the same antenna that has made it the best handheld per many experienced geocachers. This reply may seem more like a question than an answer, but I would not invest in the Oregon. If you have any information about the 60 series, I would appreciate it.
  7. Does anyone know if the present day 60csx technoligy has changed any over the years? It is my understanding that the 6o series has been one the most accurate of all handhelds. I would like to have one if it is the same standard, not one that has been watered down over time. I currently have an Oregon 400t, and have had my share of issues with it. Thank You in advance.
  8. Stay away from Oregon 400 and Edge series. Personal experience.
  9. My opinion only, and some will disagree. I have had nothing but trouble from my Oregon 400t. It has been back to the shop twice. I was supossed to have it back yesterday, but have not seen it. Have a long relationship with Garmin, and have seen higher prices, poorer quality and unreliable customer service. Furthermore, was using a edge 305 for backup, and it stopped working at the worst time.
  10. I had to convert my geocaches to waypoints to make it work.
  11. The Oregon 400 is very good except for poor screen view in the sun. That has been a problem for me.
