  1. Now the dog catcher can find you too !
  2. The question I have is what to wear on my feet? Is there a solution to this problem?Hello Paul....I've been Mt biking for a while. There is a big difference between a Mt bike shoe and a road shoe. There are some pretty good Mt biking shoes on the market that allow for some hiking. I have clipless pedals and wear a shoe made by Shimano. The sole bends when you walk. I wouldn't walk more than a mile with them if that. But they are good when I am searching for caches near the trail. The other solution if you want to do some major hiking..while leaving your Mt Bike all alone... is to carry a pair of hiking shoes in a back pack or camel pack. Go to a good bike shop and try on a few pairs. Good luck ! Jack
  3. It wasn't plugged into a cigarette lighter. After I took it off the dash mount and finished my find on foot it did not shut down. I'll check out the battery compartment.
  4. Today I was geocaching with my 60CS mounted in a Garmin holder on the dash of my truck. When I went to remove it from the holder the screen went blank. This just started happening. I tried it 6 times and as I removed it from the holder the screen went blank. It started at the top of the page and went down to the bottom. I tried hitting enter and all the other buttons to get the working screen back up with no luck. I had to hit the power button to start it up again. Anyone else had this problem ? 5. Doesn't it bug you guys that you have to download a bunch of programs to download geocaches into your gps. Seems to me that the 60cs and the supplied mapsource trip and waypoint manager should be enough. Especially when Garmin promotes this site. You'd think their techs would have worked out this bug before they released the 60cs. I've downloaded and deleted so many programs because I get frustrated that I even have to convert files to fit into my new state of the art, super, duper, gps. Wow was that a rant, I think i feel better.
  6. Thanks much for the help !!!! Guess I was overloaded with some much new information I missed the easy one. Thanks again !
  7. Picked up a Garmin 60CS last Monday. I've read the manual, which has very little detail on Computer interfacing. The Garmin website is not much better. I hand loaded a geocache site in my GPS and located it yesterday. It registered in my GPS as found. I've downloaded the included mapsource software for trip and waypoint management. I have also downloaded EasyGPS & GPXSpinner. Easy GPS seems not to be compatable to my newer model gps. So basically what I want to do is download the found cache to geocaching.com to register it as a find. I'm registered as a premium member. After all the manuals and help sites I've read, my brain is numb. Anyone with a 60CS help this caveman out ???
  8. I purchased the Garmin 60CS last Monday. Found my first cache yesterday. I had hand loaded the waypoint into my GPS and cannot figure out how to download the find to this website. Have downloaded EasyGPS and GPX Spinner as well as the Mapsource software which came with the GPS. I find the manual close to useless when it comes to the topic of computer interface. Garmin website is not much better. Anyhow I guess it just takes time.
