  1. We just found this post - we are fairly new to these forums. We have been trying to come up with an avatar but we are not very good at it. If someone out there is willing to help us out - that would be great.

Our cache name - Geosliders - came from our first cache that was done in the winter - the hilly trails were covered in ice so we slid down most of them - standing, sitting, sideways - we covered them all and had a blast. We are a family of five and our favorite caches are mountain trails and preserves. We don't take our selves to seriously and would love an avatar that reflects that.

Thanks so much for any help!! :(

I don't know if this is what you want but it is a shot. My creative cap isn't working well tonight.

  2. I've really enjoyed viewing all the new avatars. Can anybody help me?

The CacheDetectives name came from Disney's "The Great Mouse Detective". My 3 children and I originally started caching with many of the children in the neighborhood. The kids have gotten older so it is usually just my 9-year-old daughter and I who cache together. We both have long blonde hair and we enjoy hiking. I carry a Magellan eXplorist and she uses a blue Garmin e-Trex.

Thanks so much in advance for your help!

  3. Those are absolutely spectacular avatars. I just learned what they are today. There are some talented people out there. I am sure we are way down the line but it cant hurt to try.

We are a geocaching couple (yes, both long haired hippies) that feel like kidz when we are out caching. We use a Map 60CS and are from Canada. I got this picture from a magazine because I thought it was funny. I don't know... I was thinking of a GPSr in the girls hand and maybe a cache box nearby???? Whatever you guys can come up with is prolly a lot better that what I can as I lack artistic flair.

Hope I did this right. Pic can be found here:

    Keep up the great work

Edit: For some reason the pic is much clearer until I load it onto the GC.com site. The original and scan comes out way better.

  4. Thanks Kimmyroo! Is there any way you can email me a larger version? These old eyes are having trouble making out the images in the corners. I can see the GPS, and I assume that one corner is a thistle, one a rose? Don't know what the other corner is. Thanks for taking the time to work on this. Sorry I took so long to get back. We had a death in the family and my husband and I had to travel out of province to take care of business, not a happy time.

    Thanks again!

Sure, No problem. My sympathies on your loss.

  5. All of you that have shared your talents in creating avatars, are awesome!  The artwork that I've seen in the the 27 pages (!) have been great.  So much imagination and talent!!

I know you're probably busy now that the Christmas season is approaching, but if anyone has time, I would love to have an avatar designed.

Gaelcachers consist of myself, my husband and my daughter, although I'm the GPS geek in the family.

We're of Scottish ancestry, and I spent some time trying to learn Scots Gaelic (not very successfully).  Thus the Gael of cachers.  I'd like something that incorporates a Scottish thistle.  We use an Etrex Vista for our excursions.  We live in Alberta, whose flower is the Wild Rose, so perhaps that could be part of the design too?

I'd like a design to use as an avatar, but perhaps also as a sticker.

Thanks so much to anyone who takes this on.  I really appreciate all of the time that you've all given in creating so many great designs.

Just bumping this up. I will be out of town for a while, but I'll be checking the forums when I can (need my geocaching fix)

If anyone has time to work on this I would be grateful :)

    Thanks!

  6. I too have been looking to create an avatar for my family team. With our family surname. I am looking to have a Sun with maybe a Hen inside it. Possibly using the GC colors. Thus our name.....Henson (corny I know, but thats what my kids came up with!) Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

my current screeename is cad-guy (I am a CAD Draftsman)

    Living in Arkansas

    Using a garmin Legend

Any other ideas would also be welcome.

    Thanks

  7. Rhodesian Ridgebacks are great dogs--ya gotta have them as 'indoor' dogs though. They're NOT an outside dog. We have 2, and also 3 kids under age 4!

    --Vic303

I have to disagree with you onthe statement that ridgebacks are not an outside dog. She LOVED to go camping at the lake with us. Swimming in the lake and hiking the trails. We had one when I was growing up and she was the best dog I could ever have, even if she did tell on me. She was the baby sitter of the back yard. If I ever left the yard, or tried to she would herd my brother and I back even when we were in High School, and college. She was given to my family when my older brother was 2 and lived for 18 years.

  8. You guys are doing some awesome stuff here. Anyone wanna' take a stab at an "otherworldly" design for us?

We need something we can use for sig items, and if it works as an avatar as well, that's great. We'd like to incorporate the traditional GC colors, maybe a traditional "grey" alien face, or flying saucer, or crop circle. It should be "alien friendly" ... no evil alien theme.

We are a husband (Mulder) & Wife (Scully) team. We use a Garmin Map60C and an iPAQ pocket PC. Our OGRV (official geocache recovery vehicle) is a maroon Blazer with the tag "GO-CACHE." Of course, not all of this needs to be included in the design, just giving info...

Can't wait to see what you guys come up with!

Edit: oh, yeah...probably nothing too "cartoonish," but more hi-techish  :ninja:
