  1. If the price is too high for you, then don't buy it. If you found it cheaper somewhere else, then go there and buy it. Don't tell a seller how to sell their items. If it's not what you need then don't buy it.
  2. I have the Garmin 24K Topo map installed on my Oregon 300 and I was checking out how the automotive profile worked. My visual pointer kept pointing in various directions as I was driving on NF Roads. It also showed that I was "off" the dirt road as well. As far as on highways, occasionally it would show me driving off the side of the highway but would later show the icon correctly on the highway. I know the 24K Topo is not for highway driving but it did show the highway I was on. Doesn't bother me too much as I use it for off-highway use and hiking. Just a side note, my Nuvi 255W with City Navigator performed excellent in regards to showing the NF roads. It indicated each dirt road and the FS road number.
  3. Garmin has released Oregon Beta version 3.15. 4. I found this website from another forum that I visit and found it very informative. I thought it would be useful to others as well. http://www.nwcg.gov/pms/pubs/475/PMS475.pdf
  5. If you purchased/installed newer maps, you may want to save all of your current Nuvi files to your computer to upload to your replacement unit when you receive it.
  6. Garmin Basecamp for Mac. Mac GPSPro
  7. I received an email yesterday that my new 24K Southwest DVD with Basecamp shipped yesterday. So hopefully I'll have it in my hands within a week. If I'm not mistaken, Mapsource & Roadtrip is for roads/highways (automotive) and Basecamp is for trails/hiking (offroad).
  8. I contacted the company that I ordered my 24K Topo/Basecamp DVD and they informed that Garmin has pushed back the dealer delivery dates because of the high demand. They should be shipping within the next 2 weeks.
  9. I contacted the company that I ordered my 24K Topo/Basecamp DVD and they informed that Garmin has pushed back the dealer delivery dates because of the high demand. They should be shipping within the next 2 weeks.
  10. I placed my order for the 24K Southwest Tops DVD w/Basecamp about 3 weeks ago. I still have not received it. I emailed Garmin and they said that the West and Southwest is currently available but the others are not. Still doesn't explain why I haven't received my order yet if it is available now.
  11. With unit turned off, press and hold the Power On button for about 30 seconds. Follow instructions. When unit displays "Calibration Is Complete", press OK. (Taken from Owner's manual which is downloadable from Garmin website).
  12. For the Oregon 300 you will have to order the maps you want to use on MicroSD cards or buy the maps on CD and transfer them to a blank MicroSD card on your Oregon. You will not be able to download and view the maps from the pre-mapped (purchased) MicroSD cards. The U.S. 24K topo maps are a bit more detailed than the Topo USA map.
  13. New Garmin Nuvi 2x5 Firmware v5.0 is available for download on the Garmin site.
  14. I bought TrueVue screen covers from Lexerd for my Oregon 300 and Nuvi 255W. Precut and no liquids to apply them. No difference in screen functions with them on that I can tell.
