  1. This thread must be a good example of why people choose to sign the logbook and not trade anything.
  2. I do think people should at least sign the logbook. Then, when you go make a maintenance visit to your cache, you will have the pleasure of enjoying the handwritten logs from people who didn't log online.
  3. No, I would not pay to play. The 'reward' should be the total experience, not some trinket found in a box.
  4. I agree. Time would be better spent complaining about people who take good stuff from caches and leave a couple of cheap AA batteries and call it a "signature item."
  5. I agree. One should be able to "opt out" (on a permanent basis only) of having their statistics recorded and displayed. And anyone who chooses to do so should not have the ability to view the statistics of other players.
  6. The geocaching statistics have no value. We read about megacachers being led on "guided tours" of areas; they don't seek caches or find them, they are led to a cache and merely sign the logbook. Big deal. I would rather read one descriptive log from one individual who spent six hours on a hike for one find than the dozens of "Found it - TNLNSL - Great Cache - On to the next!" log entries by someone who spent the same six hours being chauffered to 'no fuss, no muss, no effort' guaranteed 'finds.' To some people, only the experience matters. To others, only the number of finds (and/or hides) matters. I have a hunch that if statistics were eliminated, we would soon notice fewer "dump and run" caches being placed, because if they didn't 'count' for anything, most people wouldn't waste their time, energy and resources placing or seeking them.
  7. If you say so, it must be so... We thank you for not being a part of the problem.
  8. LazyBoy and dboggny both spend a lot of time and energy complaining about other people complaining. Two individuals, separated by age, distance, interests and abilities, discover common ground. Ergo, complaining must be a good thing.
  9. "your all wishy washy" what did what (when, how and to whom)? Incomplete sentences drive me nuts. Think I'll go have a few beers.
  10. I am under the impression that people use the Mystery Cache designation on multicaches as a way to circumvent reporting the locations of the stages and final cache during the approval process.
