  1. Jamie Z Thanks for the help, I downloaded Easy Thumbnails it’s exactly what I wanted, something “easy” I took a 701Kb image and converted it to 98kb with great resolution for web posting.
  2. For some time now I’ve been scanning photos to posting on the Geocaching wed site with great results. I’ve just purchased an Olympus D550 digital camera. I know I have the option to shoot images at a low resolution (640 x 480) and be able to post them. My question is, if I shoot images at a photo quality resolution (1984 x 1488). There is a setting that I can re-save the image to a lower resolution through HP Director (software, HP Photosmart-230, 4 x 6 color printer) but I still cannot get any lower than 114kb, from a 702kb image. Is there an easy way to get a 700kb resolution to under 100kb’s? Dose anyone know of any free software that can be downloaded? 3. I found Rayovac 1 hour battery charger (with car adapter) at Wal-Mart for $30.00. The charger was rated for 1800mAh. Can I use Energizer batteries, which are rated at 1850mAh? Or do you need to match (mAh) batteries / charger? Dose anyone use Monster batteries?
  4. All of my photos are originally scanned as a 4 x 6 at 400dpi, cropped to about a 3”, and then saved as JPG. compressed at 75%. Before compression the photos are at 350 - 400kb, with compressing 60 – 98kb’s. Photos come out very clear and sharp.
  5. Checking to see if anyone is using a Ram Mount suction base in a 2001 Dodge Caravan.? Before buying one I want to be sure the base will secularly mount to the dash, my main concern is the dash doesn’t have much of a flat surface and the dash has somewhat of a textured finish.

  7. Wal-mart $179.00: Bushnell 4X, range from 10 - 800 yards +-1 yard. Can pick up flags playing golf to 200 yards, trees to 400 plus yards. I bought it for bowhunting, but finding it useful for caching when giving clues in yards.
  8. Just as I was about to log this reply, logscaler beat me to it. Onestep, pick up a data cable for your Magellan 315, you can download new software version 3.15. After getting to .01 miles, you will count down in feet. I’ve seen my M-315 get to within 4 feet of a cache and it was right there. I have the file if you need it, just send me your e-mail address.

  10. Jeremy, thank you very much. I hope my poll questions had something to do with adding benchmarks to the game. Again, thank you

  17. My wife and I with 2 girls, ages 9 and 2. The 9 year old loves finding the cache, the 2-year-old just loves being outdoors being able to run around. The best thing of all is, just getting outdoors and finding a sport that a family can to together.

  19. Junk is an understatement. A few weeks ago we were on the Maine cost at Fort McClary cache. The cache was loaded with lobster and crab shells. Yak!
