  1. I have been using CacheMate on my G1 android phone and it is superb. Road maps to the cache if you want with live gps updates of your position. It is a bit slow to surf the site and pull caches to find but if you set up a pocket query you can download it into cachemate from the email client in gpx format and then put all the caches in the query up on a google map to look at. You can select individual caches from the map and it even has a compass pointer for more traditional cache chasing. The GPS is very accurate and the only downside to it at all is the one time cost and the need for a 3g network to pull the maps up. If you like getting away from cell data service, this isnt for you. 2. Try here: http://www.txga.net/coins/activate/ Thanks! This worked perfectly. I appreciate the help!
  3. I have a very pretty Texas County Challenge coin I purchased online. I had been planning to put it in a cache as a first to find prize but I wanted to verify the coins existence as trackable because it clearly states that it is on the coin. The site I purchased it from was TrackableTreasures.com which is now offline. Neither I nor anyone else can activate this coin without the code. Can anyone tell me how I can obtain the activation code for my coin? Who do I need to contact since the seller is apparently out of business? The Geocaching site shows the coin is unactivated and asks me for an activation code. I would like to put it out as a prize but I want to put it out with an activation code. It is partially my fault for waiting a few months to do this but I would like to get it cleared up with whomever I need to talk to. Thanks, Ray
  4. I have been using the G1 side by side with a Etrex Legend Hcx and the differences in direction and distance are minimal. I have been finding caches with the G1 for a couple of weeks now and with Geobeagle and Cachemate. I prefer Cachemate for live map navigation but geobeagle is free. There are other apps available as well so look around and see what works for you. If you have good Tmobile connectivity in your area the G1 will work for you!
  5. While not free, Cachemate is a lot more useful than Geobeagle. The Geobeagle "arrow" is all over the place and regularly points in the wrong(often opposite) direction when first navigating to a cache. Cachemate has a steeper learning curve but is far easier to use once you know how. It also allows MAP navigation allowing you to see the roads you need to travel between you and the cache in real time. This improves your time to cache. Loading pocket queries operates in a similar manner in cachemate like it does in geobeagle. Doing a web search and then choosing google maps will allow you to open the cache in cachemate as well. The navigation is far better with cachemate but you pay for that functionality. I have used cachemate for the first time today and I was using geobeagle for a couple of weeks before hand. You can make some comparisons but cachemate simpy works better and has better working features. 10 dollars is a reasonable sum to turn the G1 into a unit that is easily the equal of my garmin eTrex Legend Hcx and better in that it allows me to log my finds in the field and look up new caches on the fly.
  6. I have a ARK-MO Geocachers geocoin dated 2006 showing Missouri in blue on one side and a nice forest design on the back. I was wondering how much information was available about this particular coin? Anyone from that group active here? Thanks, Harusee
