I've lost my instructions but looking at the downloaded instruction book I can't see how to do it. Reference waypoints the same thing? It don't want to come out right. Please help.

  2. What if the cache hider projects a way point with his GPSr using magnetic north. I find the clue, 271 degrees, 4/10 mile. If my GPSr is set for true north or I'm trying to use map and compass I'm never going to find it.

Back to on topic, I don't think my Garmin GPS 12 will project way points.

  3. I have a Travel Bug From Jonjaben who was last seen in the Cache Old Rough in Western Australia.

Somebody sent me an e-mail that their Grandparents had picked him up and were new to the game and hadn't figured out exactly what to do with him. Unfortunately I've lost this e-mail and thought maybe someone might see this post and be able to help me with this. From Jonjaben has been too many miles and seen too many places to get lost now.

Thanks in advance for any help I might get.

Stamp out and eradicate superfluous redundancy.

I looked at Secret Agent once and couldn't figure out exactly what it was. I did look at the logs or something and got to the final leg and the place was closed or something. I never did get back to it. I'm kinda from the Old School of Geocaching. Hide box, post coordinates, find box (or not find box) log find (or not found).

I got a Pocket Query for the Mississippi Caches I've not found. I don't know whether to take a shot at the title or wait for JamieZ to see what He can do. Dang, I keep forgetting, numbers don't mean anything.

Come on over. You might even find all of Mississipi in a weekend.

I used to get that on my GPS 12 but then one day a date started showing up in that space.

  9. Guess you're going to pass me. Think I have 21 finds in MS. I worked in the Jackson area for a couple of months. If I'd had Pocket Queries and a PDA when I was there I'm confident I could have surpassed Pater at the time. I think last time I looked before Dan's States Page quit I was the number 3 finder in MS.

  11. My PC version of the eBook doesn't update when I get new Pocket Queries. Also, I only have one eBook on my PC Reader no matter how many Queries I open. Guess this is a little out of my expertise. Anybody understand what I'm asking?

I know it dosent have mapping,I dont need a electric map..I got loads of De Lorme map books and a good memory, plus with a little ingenuity you can use a basic GPSR to do 90% of what a mapping unit does.

I get GREAT fixes under cover of trees and in valleys, beat the heck outta my unit ,use it all four seasons(in Wisconsin no less),rain, sunclouds whatever,it didn't cost much compared to other units ,I've compared it to Mag. units and it 10x easier to use (with either hand),+ its that nice black that goes well with the nazi style stilleto heels!

So WTH?...no one else uses this simple beauty anymore?

I started with a GPS 12, had it for years. I've lost it and bought another then found it, bought a GPS12SX I think it is. Bought two emaps and a Vista. The 12's all I ever use.
