How do I get a "coordinate verification link?" I've seen them on some cache pages, but don't know how to get them. -

Thanks for all the advice everyone. I think I'll just modify it to make it easier and more, shall we say, attractive. I'll post an update when I update it. Thanks again! -
Why doesn't ANYONE find my cache!?!?
PorscheSpyder replied to PorscheSpyder's topic in General geocaching topics
That thought occured to me before I posted this thread. The puzzle are four pre-Algerbra problems. I've been thinking that maybe I should do away with the first stage and post the puzzle on the cache's page instead. You think I should do that? And if so, should I disable it and make the changes or archive it and place it as a new cache? -
Why doesn't ANYONE find my cache!?!?

SORRY! I'm a little baffled too as to why the original post isn't showing up. For those of you who didn't see it, heres a summery: I placed a mystery cache right along a busy highway and it's only been visited by two local cachers. There are three other caches along the same road that have been getting a decent amount of traffic, and I just can't understand why people pass up a mystery cache. I've seriously been considering archiving it. Here is the link again. GC1QKX7 Advice is more than welcome! Now, if you'll excuse me, I heading back to 99 Wheels of cheese on the wall!!!! -
I'm totally with you, 9Key. I dislike it when people do just "TFTC" or cut-n-paste logs. When I was a new cacher, I did just "TFTC" but then I thought, "Thats rather boring." So now I usually try to do at least a good sized sentence.

I picked up a bug at a local lake cache, which also happened to be the first TB I had come across. It seemed odd to me at the time that it wasn't regestered as being there. The tag was battered, giving the impression that it had done a lot of travelling. Looking forward to see all the adventures it had been on, I logged on to the bug's page, only to discover that after the bug owner had placed it in it's first cache, it had been MIA! The TBs owner sent me an email of gratitude after I put it back in circulation. It sure felt good to know I made someones day that day!

Currently I just use an old Garmin eTrex. It is very reliable (the same can't be said for the Garmin eTrex Legend, which my friend has). However, the two models I would recommend are: Garmin eTrex Venture HC. Though I have personally never used on, I have heard excellent reviews on them. The other is the Delorme pn-20, which my friend just bought to replace his legend. Again, I haven't personally used it, but it has gotten excellent reviews as well. They are both pretty close in price (150-180, depending on where you look). They have different features, but I think it would be worth looking into them. Good luck!

A nice, blank logbook is a prize enough for me.

Walmart isn't so bad (I plan to put one near a walmart soon). I think hiding under light pole skirts is also pretty clever!

What does your geocaching title mean?
PorscheSpyder replied to lil'hobo's topic in General geocaching topics
As a Porsche (pronounced pors-CHE) enthusiest, I wanted to have that shown in my username. The Spyder part came from the famous 550 & 550A Porsche racecars from the 1950s. In 2008, Porsche released a commerative streetgoing version of the Spyder. So, I combined the two words into one, hence: PorscheSpyder! -
I don't know about ya'll out there, but I find nano containers rather fun to find. Sure their hard, but that is what makes them fun, for me at least. My first experience with nano containers was rather funny. I was with Pole Position, his little brother, and his parents at the time. We pulled up to where the GPSr said we would find the nano. Now, neither of us had ANY idea of what a nano looked like (mistake #1). Neither of us bothered to do any research as to what a nano looked like (mistake #2). Finally, we thought this would be a Park 'n Grab (mistake #3). To make a loooong story short, Pole Positions mom found it in 5 minutes. It took Pole Position, his brother Simon and I 45 minutes at least to find it! If it had been a snake, it would have bitten us all numerous times! It was a frusterating, but fun experience. Thats my experience. Anyone else care to share theirs?

At the time of this writing, there are over 807,000 caches and counting. At the rate they're being added, I think the count could easily reach a million by the end of the year. In honor of the millionth hide, how do you think Groundspeak should celebrate this milestone? Here are a couple of my ideas: 1. A specially struck geocoin with the name, GC code, date placed, country (and, if possible, state) and owners username. 2. The owner should be granted a special prize, like a $100 gift certificate to the ShopGroudspeak store. Anyone else have other ideas?

Read, eat, sleep, watch the History Channel, Discovery Channel, Science Channel, etc. Now, what would prompt a question like this in this type of place?????....... -
Seems a little odd to me that the owner didn't even know that the quad was missing. I'll bet he was happy to get it back safe and sound, though!
