  1. Just sent an email. StarBrand is correct, no maps for this unit. I use the same thing. Here's a link to the manual. You can load the waypoints manually until you get your cable. Have fun......
  2. My mother passed on 03/17/07. Kinda funny though, she was 100% Irish. So if your watching. HAPPY MOTHERS DAY mom
  3. Hummm..... The good ol'e "Jumping Cactus"
  4. I have a treasure chest that is almost ready to go. But as Andycacher says its a challenge to find a place to hide it. Then you have to get it there with out being seen.
  5. If I'm driving by a cache, I always look. But one particular cache GC133MR. I always watch. Its about 200ft from my window and I have a great view of it. If you look at the logs, I am the neighbor of the neighbor that is always mentioned in the logs. The cache IS NOT on private property but if you ever saw the location, That's the first place I would look. A week or so ago, we had just got home for caching and looked out the window. There they were . We knew what they were looking for and I tried to get out there to warn them but was too late.

One day the first grade teacher was reading the story of Chicken Little to her class. She came to the part of the story where Chicken Little tried to warn the farmer. She read, ".... and so Chicken Little went up to the farmer and said, "The sky is falling, the sky is falling!" The teacher paused, then asked the class, "And what do you think that farmer said?" One little girl raised her hand and said, "I think he said: 'Holy Smoke! A talking chicken!'" The teacher was unable to teach for the next 10 minutes.
  7. Wear your helmet, they make them for a reason. 05/8/09 3:45pm
  8. GORP! Boy, I haven't heard it called that in years. But that's what we take. We like to make our own. Peanuts, Sunflower seeds, pecans, dried bananas, Raisins, dried apples, cheeze its, check mix, and mini chocolate chips. All in equal portions. And for drink, we take water and gator-aid. Then when we get home and logging our finds, a nice cold beer.
  9. I use cache magnet with my nano all the time.(its about 3 years old) Never have any problems. It will load everything into the extras section on the ipod. Perhaps someone else will have something more to offer.
  10. Email sent, just watch out for them ammo box caches Thanks for what you guys/girls are doing. Stay safe
  11. I'm just interested in hearing what others have to say about the note. I found the cache quite some time ago, so this is not a complaint. Just a subject for conversation. What is "considerably wrong" 50', 100', 200'? If its in an open area, then 50' may be pushing it. But what's the fun of walking right up on a cache? That's like going to your local store to get batteries for your GPS'r. You know right where there at. If it was that easy, I wouldn't be caching.
  12. I almost have all the logs posted on line where everyone "that found" this cache can see Just let me know your user name, and Ill tell you where to go........ Opps, I forgot "Almost" sorry,
  13. I ran a "Add To Queue" about an 45 minutes ago. Anyone know how long it takes to receive the email? I'm still waiting....
  14. I live in NE Ohio. I always check the Midwest section of the forums to see whats going on. I use to see new caches listed daily. But, now nothing but events. I received 6 emails today for new publishing's but are not listed on the Midwest section page. But I have noticed new publishing's are getting listed in other parts. Anyone one know why? Maybe I changed a setting or something? Thanks
  15. In a city park where two people do not appear very friendly it's sometimes difficult to approach them and explain what geocaching is. But as you said, since this was the case we just walked away Or, they were waiting for you to leave so they could be the FTF. Just a thought.
  16. I have a garmin. Never had a problem with this. Even not being a PM.
  17. Oh, so that's why the avatar looked familiar... Well, FWIW, the OP asked a question here, and was polite about it, no point dragging up the past in answering that. If the OP truly has a different motive in starting this thread, let the OP bring it up instead. Well, all I did was ask a question. And I got some good answers from some of you, thanks for that. The rest of you seem to think there is writing between the lines. Sorry, there is not. I do not understand why some of you people feel that you need to analyze every word in a thread? The same people cant seem to reply to a thread without looking at someones profile. That doesn't bother me, but if your going to take the time to look. Then why don't post something about the status of my caches? Instead of just posting how many NM's or NA's I have posted. I could do the same to you, but I really care less how you manage your caches. If I find a cache that needs attention, then I'm going to post a NM. Being new to geocaching. I'm just following the "Guide Lines" that are posted here on the web sight. When a cache is not being taken care of and it gets archived. Then it's just becomes trash/litter. Now, hopefully this well let some of you get some sleep tonight. 1. Am I going to hide a cache in the mention area? NO! I have no intentions of doing so. I only plan on hiding one or two more. And I already have the places picked out. 2. Why is the CO of the mentioned cache unable to maintain it? Mind your own business, don't worry about. You don't really need to know. Stop loosing sleep over it. 3. Am I going to post a NM on a cache that is in full of water and everything inside is ruined? You can bet on it! 4. Will I put a NA on a cache? Yep, If I see that its not being taken care of. "The cache owner will assume all responsibility of their cache listings." 5. Am I going to keep posting? Yes, some people here are actually willing to help when they can. And thanks to all of you that have answered my questions the best you could. I appreciate the help. P.S. For the one that took the time to look at my profile and seen that I have tried to have two caches archived. You are completely right. You just forgot to mention that they are by the same CO!
  18. I found out today the CO is no longer available (I won't mention why). In fact, I was the one that requested it to be archived. So I went and grabed the cache yesterday. The FTF was from 12-10-04. So I have alot of logs of other cachers finding this one. Rail Trail GCM7W8. I dried out the log but not all sigs survived. So, if you don't know the cache info, you'll never know.... I did have an idea, I could put this info on my profile page? What do you think? Here is the FTF page. Sorry, I'm not trying to log the find. Just thought it would be neat for everyone to see all the logs form the log book.

  20. That's what I thought. But since its been archived, It's not listed anymore. The only way I found it here is by searching the CO's name. And the CO hasn't logged in since 2007. As long as you know the GCXXXX info you can simply go to that cache page and post your log. If you found it via the owner just click on the cache link to open the cache page and then you can post your log. There are times when a cache has been locked but that is pretty rare. I guess I was misunderstood. I found the cache. Checked geocaching.com. Found it was archived and no longer listed. Now, I have the cache in my hands. Not much worth keeping but I have six (8"x11") pages of log book that I think I can save and would like to post somewhere. Just thought it would to neat idea?

  22. Today while out caching we found an archived cache. It is in pretty bad shape and has alot of logged finds. FTF was in 2004. I would like to post all the logs. I was thinking I could scan them and post them. Now there are 6 logs in this cache and its not all readable. Just wondering if this was possible?
  23. I agree 100 percent. In my area, it seems like people hide the cache's and then expect people like us to take care of them. It was very nice of the finder to take the time to email you with the problem. I would expect the same with my hides. It's your cache so you need to take care of it. Sometimes accidents will happen. But it's still your cache. I try to do the best I can in drying out a cache and what not. The way I look at it. If you take the time to hide it, then take care of it.
