  1. How many caches can the eTrex 30x hold? I can't find the answer anywhere.
  2. Is there a database of them somewhere. I've noticed them walking around different bases while I've been in South Korea.
  3. I like the visit option. Where I live there aren't many small or regular sized caches to place bugs or coins in. Most caches here are micros. So visiting bugs in the micros I come across insures the owner that I'm still active and still have their bugs or coins. But an option to hide all visit options on your bugs page or any bugs page you look at would be a good thing. Not deleting every log that is a visit.
  4. I'm located in South Korea if you are still wanting to send trackables this way.
  5. Yes there still are monthly events held in Seoul. All of August they had an event each day for the souvenir challenge. There is an event in a few days. http://coord.info/GC4M8V1 .
  6. Yes please mark it as missing if it isn't in the cache. Doesn't hurt a thing. Saves people time and effort of looking for your trackable.
  7. Here is a bookmark list of TB Hotels in the Midwest states of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. What I'm asking of you is to check and see if I missed one or two in that list if you can. I want it to be complete as possible. Right now there are a total of 800+ TB Hotels listed here for these states. http://www.geocaching.com/bookmarks/view.aspx?guid=b410549b-5658-4582-bc0e-7d092b5aaa32
  8. I agree with the "Not seen" voting system of getting trackables out of caches that the owners of the cache ignore the logs and the trackable owner ignores the logs. The only issue is I could see some people abusing this feature by going to people they may not like and voting out all of their bugs. But if you have to have multiple votes it could solve that issue.. RJ McKenzie
  9. +1 on getting rid of the Mapquest maps. It doesn't show as much roads, and the roads it does show in the county doesn't show the hwy name.. What is the point of a map which only has lines and no labels? The other stuff on top of the map is really obtrusive and gets in the way. Can't even see the 50% of the map. Get rid of it ASAP.
  10. I believe that the voice is part of the device and not the maps. On my Oregon I have street maps on and there is no voice and just beeps. That is a limitation in the device and not the maps. I have the same maps on my Nuvi and there is voice directions.
  11. Another question on the same topic, does the Garmin 24K TOPO maps have turn by turn?
  12. Thanks for the replies, I will have to try it out when I get it.
  13. Yes it can be done...I do this on my Colorado (Oregon is very similar). I have mine set up with two profiles: Automotive has the City Navigator active, Geocaching has the Topo active. So it is possible to use the internal memory for map storage?
  14. Hi, I am thinking about getting a Oregon 450 and I was wondering if I could install 2 sets of maps at once. Like maybe installing a few states of the City Navigator to the internal memory and having my TOPO 2008 sd card on top of that. So I can get turn by turn directions and have my TOPOs which are great for caching. Can this be done and how easy is it switching between the two maps? Or will the turn by turn know of the City Navigator maps and use them for routing?
  15. To be honest if you would have posted and didn't take credit for the link, I wouldn't have made the connection between you and the person who wrote the article.
  16. I've read everywhere that it hold 5,000 caches and 2,000 waypoints. Garmin doesn't advertise the amount of caches it will hold. I kinda wish they did.
  17. I expect the price of the 62s to drop a bit once it is more widely available. Have you used an Oregon before? Some people feel the lack of screen brightness to be a deal breaker. When testing, make sure backlight is on at 100%, and if possible, set the screen background to plain white, for maximum brightness. I have a buddy who has an Oregon and kinda used it a bit, I will be caching with him tomorrow and I will give it a try some more.
  18. Thanks for the link Chrysalides, I am impressed with how much better the Oregon is. That is even with WAAS off on that test. I also like the price of the Oregon compared to the 62s. I wish I was made of money but that isn't the case.
  19. So how would the accuracy of the 450 be compared 60csx?
  20. I currently use a GPSMAP 60csx and am looking to upgrade to one of these two units. From what I can see they both hold 5000 caches, and 2000 waypoints. Both are wireless in that they can communicate with other Garmin devices that have the same ability. Which one would you get? I can find the Oregon 450 for around $340 where as the GPSMAP 62s is $450. Why the higher price on the 62s, is that only because it is "NEW".
  21. As the cache owner I would like to put my 2 cents in. For one the cache is a quick grab at the base of a spot sign. Hence the name STOPSPOTS. Being a hunter myself I do care that the turkeys have a chance to grow and become a tasty meal for someone. But since the nest is 150 feet away I am not gonna disable it, cars, trucks, and semis all drive withen 150 feet of the nest. The turkey should have known this when he built the nest... Also anywhere in the description I didn't give permission to trespass on private property to go looking for this cache or a nest. I know it is just a vacant lot on the edge of businesses, but someone does own it and I didn't give permission to hunt in this area.
  22. So we are getting a different icon for the 10 year event?
  23. Thanks for working on this issue.
