  1. Can someone explain to me why some COs include a child waypoint that is the same as the cache location and/or sometimes has zero coordinates?
  2. And for me it was my hiking stick that a homeowner thought was a rifle so simply take care and thoughtful
  3. Another "task" one can easily forget to do is allowing the GPSr to actually /get a fix/ If your unit is turned off and you travel to a different location from the one in which the unit was on and being used, is to turn it on (in the new location) and WAIT a few extra minutes. While the sats might show you have then, there are internal updates the unit does to get a solid fix - One being to set the Current Location file
  4. Do note that the info received in the loc file is very limited compared to the gpx form
  5. On a great 5.5 mile CITO paddle, Crane Creek, Melbourne, FL
  6. There are times that "approved" maps in MapSource aren't "approved" in Basecamp so a dilemma IMHO, Base came isn't worth install. I get much more using MapSource and ExpertGPS
  7. Do recall the theme of geocaching is "Where you are the search engine" and that says it all While I scan the cache description it more for what I am looking for (micro, regular, camo'd bison,...) and with this in mind, the type "not chosen" should be abolished - the cache is something even a container inside a container starts off as something so "micro well camo'd inside a host" versus the ridiculous "not chosen" Let the war of opinions begin
  8. I found my blockage - A day or two ago I made a change to my router's set-up to filter Java Applets & ActiveX, unfiltered and now seems all OK
  9. Have the Preferences button but will NOT link I believe it is the "map interface" (not a tecky so) since the caches using the Terracache.com map also will not display
  10. None shown and preferences will not link to Also, on the cache page no maps are shown as well as when in GSAK
  11. This is a really great idea and do hope it comes close to meeting your expectations! "Out of staters" Some will come but, as expected, the farther away the more difficult it becomes. Be patient and they will come
  12. Dale & Barb own/operate the one in our area. If it exists I am sure they have it or can get it for you http://www.shop.spacecoastgeocachers.com/
  13. Nice idea and would also like to add - Drop the "Not Chosen" category.
  14. Yes, GPS-details does look neat but does not appear to be 'paperless caching' friendly? Correct if wrong!
  15. Wonder if getting the app free when get a PM would increase the PMs?
  16. If around Central Florida, here is one of the "Paddle" bookmarks to get you started - There are several others. http://www.geocaching.com/bookmarks/view.aspx?guid=509fd0bb-199b-44d7-b845-f6b6b9aa4c3d
  17. Same here but find that if I hold down the power button longer my M650 will shut down
  18. Yes, ras, I think this would be very informative
  19. It took me awhile to get use to my M650's size & weight having moved up from an O550 but now really like it. While there are still software issues, and there probably will forever, the unit is performing well as I use it. I particularly like being able to hide the dashboard thus a full viewing screen.
  20. Oops! Thanks Gitchee-Gummee, forgot I did a dup post
  21. Opinions appreciated The preferred GPSr used for trail hiking, geocaching & auto routing between these two: Magellan eXplorist 510 Garmin GPSMAP 62 Tks
  22. I am looking into one of these for trail hiking, caching & auto routing and would appreciate opinions toward preference. It might replace one I have or become the primary unit and would give an older one to my son Garmin GPSMAP 62 Magellan eXplorist 510 Tks
