  1. My best day was 125, starting at 06:00 and going to Midnight... No power trails and a variety of D/T's and sizes. It was a crazy fun day.
  2. Glue it to the other end and re-paint
  3. Carni is a friend of mine, he likes to go for the higher DT caches, but will pick up a few lower ones to fill his grids. He has a large amount of hides as well, that are well maintained.
  4. Not much you can do with it, unless your aunt knows where she found it. I would use it to create a new cache and call it "My Auntie is a Muggle" LOL
  5. I think the Free PM is so if there is a call for a suspicious package or people, LEO's will have the option to check if there is a Geocache at that location.

Winner every time! - Signal's Spin to Win: Spin the wheel to win prize tickets. - L&A Receipt Game (We know caching can get expensive, if you happen to spend money in L&A on the 22nd, keep your receipt, put your caching name on it and turn it in, for a chance to win a gas card. - Guessing Jar: Closest to the number wins the jar and everything in it! - 2 Furthest Distance Traveled prizes: Did you visit from a long way away to get to our MEGA? They include an L&A County wine, cider & beer package, restaurant certificates, as well as many gift baskets and geocaching prizes too numerous to mention. You can even win a 1/2 hour sight-seeing flight over L&A (more details at the event). We're looking forward to the kick-off party at Conservation Park in Napanee on Friday night at 6:30pm. You're all invited to a free concert featuring Rudy & Saddle Up. They play a great list of songs from the latest hot country tunes to the best of classic rock. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the music. After the concert the Napanee BIA is hosting an Outdoor Movie Night at the park as well. It should be a fun evening that leads into a big day of geocaching on Saturday. Don't forget to reserve your camping space if you need one, and be sure to pre-order a newly-minted L&A MEGA Geocoin and order your post-event dinner tickets for Saturday night! And we haven’t even mentioned all the new geocaches… J Details on everything mentioned here and a whole lot more can be found at www.LandAGeocaching.com
  7. Why use and technology Set it up an an old fashion treasure hunt Get a photo of the park off Google Maps Mark the cache locations with pirate like X's Make each participant their own map To make it even cooler, burn the edges of the map to make it look old. Label each cache with a number on the map, but make each map numbers different, it will be fun Kids will be running in every direction LOL
  8. You can also have a friend with another smart phone or GPS to beta test your coordinates before submitting the cache for review, if they can find it, so will everyone else

  12. Should be fine as most search by coordinates and not street names.
  13. 3 questions Do we have to provide the tracking code and will it say Trackable at Geocaching.com? And can we add out caching name?
  14. Depending on how you're getting around, Toronto can be a head ache Beautiful City but congested. Niagara Falls is just over an hour and a bit away, lots of Caches, virtuals, Earth Caches and Oh yea, The Falls
  15. Being the host of a MEGA, we still have to apply for LAB caches, its not a given.
  16. Spring and Fall, and when a NM or a string of DNF's show up
  17. Come to our MEGA, and meet lots of cachers http://coord.info/GC5FPJB
  18. At our MEGA, we have the following games, each game gives tickets for different prize packages: Ammocan toss, with 4 different sizes of cans. (hey must get them inside or through hula hoops) Micro toss, each participant gets 10 film canisters filled with different stuff, so they all fly different, for every canister they get in the bucket, they get a ticket. We put a big set of coordinates on the wall and do not tell any one why...yep you guessed it, prize tickets at them. Look up BINGO geocaching game, it's fun. We have a spin to win wheel for prizes. My daughter runs a Kids caching corner, and she had games and prizes just for the little ones..Fish pond, tic-tac-toe type games. We also hide tickets in random caches published for the event
  19. I own 20 Earth Caches, I reply to 99.3 percent of the emails When I reply, they get a "Great Job, Thanks for visiting my EC" type of response If 1 or more answers are incorrect, I'll usually let them know the correct answers. Right after the MEGA event I co-host is usually when I miss an email or 2
  20. Delete and report to GS, if this is a chronic offender
  21. Probably better to just stick to the Guidelines rather than reading too much into the GOW article: Best not to set up new Members for failure IMO. Is the FB page not run by Groundspeak? if so, in the article I have highlighted, Groundspeak was OK with this hide, because the tree was already dead. So why would it be OK for this hide but not others? I understand the rules completely but there seems to be mixed understandings sometimes.
  22. Pick a dead tree and nail it to that....
  23. Find the oldest cache around your area, see who were the first few finders. Look in their profiles for caches found. You will most likely find a bunch of archived caches there
  24. After putting your "DOT" make sure you log those "NEEDS MAINTENANCE" logs
