  1. It certainly shouldn't.... I ordered my PN-40 from Amazon and it took them 9 days to ship from Phoenix to Seattle. Maybe they are trying to tell me to not be so cheap and pay for shipping?
  2. I don't know how things work around here, but in other forums I belong to, undercutting someone in their own "for sale" post, is a HUGE no-no.... You would probably be wise to erase this post and start your own thread.
  3. FYI, there is a sticky post in the Delorme forums where people are posting results of battery life.
  4. I just got a Garmin Nuvi 265WT and bought one of those bean bag, non-skid holders for the dash. It's very easy to just throw in my center console and no one can tell I have a unit, which I do take with me when I leave the car. The problem with the suction cup on the windshield ones, is a thief will smash your window, assuming you have been lazy and stuck it in the glove box... Either way, it's going to cost you some money if someone thinks you have a unit in the car. I just ordered a PN-40 and it will go with me whenever I get out of my car as well.
  5. Very cool guys, this site is awesome, thanks again...
  6. Thanks to both of you for the quick responses... So the road maps for the us won't cover trails and things like that? I did see a link to this site within the GPSFileDepot pointing here: http://www.switchbacks.com/maps/NW_Trails.html Would something like this work with mapsource? I see the mention using City Navigator and doing an overlay over the top.... more confusion sets in for Marty.
  7. Hi there, so I have a Nuvi 265wt for my car and it appears that I don't really need to spend $100 on the City Navigator for my incoming 60csx. If folks could give suggestions as to what would be the best and cost me the least for what I am wanting to do it would be GREATLY appreciated. I live in the Seattle area and am planning on using my 60csx for geocaching, hiking, etc., maybe the occasional trek around town, but mostly activity in Washington state. In my other thread it was suggested that for paperless caching, cachemate and GSAK were the way to go. So I think I have that covered, now I just need to know what maps and other tools will be best for geocaching and whatever else I may try. The maps at GPSFileDepot appear to be free for the most part, can I use these and set waypoints for my hikes, or do I need something else on top of the topo maps. The new guy is still a bit confused, so type slowly if you can. Thanks again for the help! Marty
  8. Thank you for clearing that up, makes much more sense to me now! I have been reading and surfing like crazy, there is just a ridiculous amount of info out there to try and consume.....
  9. Hi out there, I got a Garmin 265WT from Santa this Christmas and started poking around on the Garmin site and discovered what the heck geocaching was. Trying to step up early on my New Years resolution to get off the couch more and go outside I have picked up a Garmin 60CSx with the desire to find some geocaches with the family and have some fun. Being an IT guy, the more toys, the better so I have a couple of questions.... In my research, it appears that cachemate and GSAK will work with my Treo 700W smartphone... my question is, how does the the 60CSx and the Treo talk to each other? Are they both plugged into the PC at the same time or do they need to link together via bluetooth or another physical connector type, it isn't quite clear to me. I see some of the screen shots from some of the products and it appears that the 2 items are working in tandem out on the trail, or is the Treo just something that simply holds the geocache data for reference? Would any set of products work better than the 2 I listed above, free or paid? I noticed one called BeeLineGPS that looked interesting as well. I am open to suggestions and thanks for any advice you may have for the new guy. Marty
