  1. same.. same... I thought the lines where gone myself... guess they are still there... if you can call them lines.
  2. I should hope not... according to Garmin 60cs is-- Waterproof to IEC 60529 IPX7 standards (can be submerged in one meter of water for up to 30 minutes) Not sure about the 2610.
  3. If our dogs can’t go… we don’t go. And that applies to all weekend/vacation activities.
  4. Want to talk about a hand full… Try a walking stick, PDA, GPS, 2 Dogs, and a wife!!! The dogs are no problem at all as they will not leave my side unless I tell them to. I just keep them (the dogs) on a leash cause people tend to turn pale when they see my dogs are not on one. So the leashes are just tucked into my belt. The wife… I haven’t figured that one out yet… I just have to remember to stop every once in a while (normally when I can’t here her talking anymore) so she can catch up.
  5. Strong Eng just sent me a new set of screen protectors. Thought this was cool of them, since I never complained about the first (old stile) set. This is the method I learned when trying to put stickers on RC airplane’s plastic covering. I just tried it out with the Strong Engineering screen protectors and it worked great. First spray the screen down with a light mist of water (I used 409 window cleaner). Peal the backing off the screen protector then place it on the screen. You should be able to slide the screen protector around to get it positioned just right. After it is where you want it, squeegee the water out from under the screen protector with a credit card. You might also have to rub the edges with a towel to get all the water out. Let it dry for an hour or so. I did mine in 2-3 minutes.. worked great. No trapped air at all, and the protector is sticking to the screen just fine.
  6. looks like it, 76S = 2.9" diagonal 76CS = 2.6" diagonal I am not sure where you got your specs for the screen, but at the Garmin site the spec is the same for both the 60c and the 76c. 1.5" W x 2.2" H; 2.6" diagonally Yes the 60C and 76CS have the same size screen.. more then likely the same screen and that is what I originally posted. (Same mistake ).. Then I realized the question was about the 76S and 76CS's screen. So I edited my post showing the 76S screen size listed in the man.
  7. USAF… Will retire in 2 more years with 24 years in.. moving back to Michigan. As a Weapons Load Crew Chief (bomb/missile loader) or a Weapons system troubleshooter on the F-16 1. Desert Storm (Had a great time… Loaded over 100,000 lbs of bombs) 2. Operation Southern Watch (3-6 months each and every year from 1992 till 1999) As part of a Combat Search and Rescue squadron. 1. Operation Enduring Freedom Afghanistan. (3 month trip) Part of Operation Anaconda. With another 3 month trip last March. 2. Operation Iragi Freedom. Just got back. 3. Should be back over there in 6 months.
  8. I ended up doing the same and ordering from offroute. Everyone seems to be out of it. I might have a use for the lighter adapter on my 16 hr drives to Michigan but wasn't too worried about it. And the bag mount did come in handy for a place to store the unit on my desk.
  9. Yes, looks like buttons are being pushed when the unit is on. If only this case was about 1/8" wider....
  10. ROFL!!! That’s just too funny. I’ll remember that every time I look at that inactive Onstar button now.
  11. Got the case in today… It’s the same one with the oval flap. Fits like a glove is right. The case I got in is way to tight to install/remove the 60C(S) while it’s on a belt. I needed 3 hands to do it. Maybe it will stretch out some??? If not, I'm going to get some elastic sewn into the sides, as I do like it. It is what I’ve been looking for. Thanks for posting the Find (link)..
  12. I havn't been able to get mine to do this. However it wouldn't take a waypiont average until I cleared it by holding down Page and Enter when powering up. All seems fine now.
  13. I didn't forget.... The case hasn't arrived yet...maybe tomorrow. (coming by USPS). However, the 60CS did make it here on time.
  14. looks like it, 76S = 2.9" diagonal 76CS = 2.6" diagonal
  15. This is an easy one… Shadow n Seqoui are the names of my Rotties… but, of course, there is a small story to go with it. About a month ago I was on the net looking for a new hiking area I could take the dogs to when I found this forum. After lurking around for a few hours Seqoui plops her Tupperware drinking bowl in my lap wanting more water. Then about an hour later Shadow drags the 20mm ammo can to me (with his dog food in it) and informs me I have neglected to feed them. It was right about then I thought KOOL.. this could work. The next day I brought back a few ammo cans from work and picked up some Tupperware bowls and hid them in the woods behind the house. Seqoui was 5 for 5 with the bowls Shadow was 4 out of 5 for the ammo cans. So here I am… GPSr should be here Friday with a full weekend planed….
  16. Don’t tell me that… Still no word from them telling me mine has shipped out Guess I get to call them in the morning. My problem is… apparently FEDEX don’t use GPS’s cause they can never seem to find my house. I have to intercept packages at the shipping center before it gets put on a truck and wonders around aimlessly for thee days.
  17. I ordered one and should be getting it tomorrow. With any luck the 60CS will be here Friday... I'll post back and let ya know if this one works.

  19. FYI... GPSDiscount.com's next shipment is do in before weeks end.
  20. Don't know about GpsDiscount having extras... as far as I know my pre order with them didn't go out yet. Going to call them later today and check on it.
  21. Well… Looks like Phase 1 is over (They have started shipping) On to Phase 2 (Checking your e-mail every 5 min to see if yours shipped) Let us not forget Phase 3 (when is the second batch going to ship out for those that didn’t get one) But don’t worry… it will start all over again with the 76CS
  22. The way I look at it is... If a kid 12/13 years old can go to Wall-Mart and buy it, it shouldn’t be a problem putting it in a cache... The argument that a young passer-by can find the cache and therefore that item shouldn't be there can be argued down to the point that only items appropriate for children 5 and under should be in a cache.
  23. Let's see... I just spent the better part of the last 3 weeks reading everything that was posted during the last 60 days... Does that qualify me as a Lurker?... Guess my next step is to get a GPSr. BTW, Hello everyone.
