The LEGO Sculptures category limits the number of LEGO sculptures in an area to 2 so others may post a LEGO Sculpture. So often, LEGO sculptures are clustered so that one Waymarker could post all of them. The Biosphere seem to be the opposite situation - they are potentially so large and diverse, that many Waymarks may be allowed. As always, BruceS is dead on! Take care, Outspoken1 Multiple waymarks for a single biosphere may a solution from the poster's perspective, but it is not very visitor friendly. If you have only one waymark for the whole area, then you can allow to log a visit from any location inside this area, which would be a good practice in my opinion. But if there are many waymarks, you maybe have no choice than to restrict visits to those locations. Or has anyone a solution for that? Yes it would restrict to that particular feature etc. If they go to another part that is not already listed they can post a new waymark.

Going wayyyy off topic for a second, but... wow! I had no idea, Bruce. Sorry to hear that. Glad that you're getting used to the workarounds, but they still suck. Nah life is good. Everyone has challenges to meet and overcome. But it does put things in perspective, I don't worry about the length of logs some one enters whether long or short, there are just more important things to concern ones time and thoughts with.

If I were to start caching again after reading this thread I am not sure how I would log my finds. I was never long on words but never would use an acronym either, I don't know if TFTC was even in use when I stopped caching. But now at least I would have an excuse if I did use TFTC as due to a side effect of chemo I have lost a lot of my ability to type (hard to type if you have lost the feeling in your fingers). But even with that as an excuse I would not log with TFTC, not in my nature but for others it is and I accept that. (I am getting better at using voice recognition software)

It is not an app but works http://www.chilehead.us/Waymarking/ for finding waymarks near you. Note, most waymarks require a photo to be uploaded when you log a visit, thus you do have to leave home.

My feeling is duplicates for the same biosphere are ok as long as it is for a separate feature/marker etc., maybe with some separation distance required. As these can be very large the two waymarks could be quite different. I would probably limit an individual waymarker to one waymark per biosphere to eliminate someone person Waymarking every feature/marker in the area.

Should a vertical offset of 528 ft be allowed?
BruceS replied to Sapper 1-6's topic in General geocaching topics
The challenge cache showing on the Gateway Arch grounds is not actually on the Gateway Arch grounds. It is an older challenge cache that is grandfathered and is at another location the owner will provide. The only cache on the Gateway Arch grounds is a virtual. As has been pointed out the Gateway Arch grounds are National Park Service property and not one that allows caches. -

Is the pictured Etrex 20 a bait & switch?

Its kind of like my raisin bran cereal I had for breakfast this morning... the picture on the box showed it having milk on it... no matter how hard I shook the box no milk... -
Barely non-commercial caches annoy me
BruceS replied to Sapper 1-6's topic in General geocaching topics
This thread is not about the intelligence of reviewers. It is about borderline commercial caches. There have been some quite rude comments made and that is not acceptable. Time to get back on topic. -

Contributing Buildings to National Register Historic Districts may seem that way here in the US until you start Waymarking them and find each building has its own history, architecture, features etc. In St Louis there are districts with 1000s of buildings... I have not waymarked them yet but I have done smaller districts with great history. Take Portland and Westmoreland Places, one Waymark would not explain that neighborhood.

You might want to enter this up under the Website section under Bugs and Feature Discussion rather than here under Waymarking as your problem appears to be geocache count and not waymark count.

Join Lion statues and I will promote you... somewhere along the way I inherited leadership of that one. -
You can still access the satellite view by clicking link for google maps on the lower left of the the waymark page. Not as handy as having it up on the upper right but still accessible.

Duplicate of already active thread. Closing this one. There has been little coding done to the Waymarking site for years, there is nort an expected resolution to this problem.

Category for such shrines with cross mounted on trees

Are there several different ones (like 14) in the same area? Is this one of an Outdoor Stations of the Cross -
Congratulations on reaching that milestone. More importantly hopefully you have enjoyed yourself along the way and discovered new places and things you would have missed if it had not been for Waymarking.

Both ways work for me. At least you have regained access to the site.

Still working for me. Your second link brought me to login screen. Try doing a search on your first link using Google and then pull up the cached copy and see if that works. Seems like it might be some type of DNS issue.

I just tried your link and it worked fine for me. I'm using chrome as my browser.
