  3. I finally found a config that works. Shows geocache icon with default zoom. Here is where I saved them in the NUVI 2455 (POI Folder). Just showing default GPX contents FYI. A few notes: **I changed the icon to a JPG. the nuvi manual doesn't state it supports BMP. I know it may still work as BMP, but I feel better with it being JPG. **I don't care about audible alerts, so I think this config is not going to provide audible. Here is the Macro Config Hopefully this is helpful. I will keep experimenting. I would like to have a different naming scheme for non-physical caches (EC, Virtuals, CITO, etc), but I think that involves running the macro for each set of caches (unless somebody can explain otherwise).
  4. Thanks Red90. I did download and try the macro. I am not sure I am getting the desired reults. I can find the caches as a POI, ut they are not showing on the map as I drive. I am loading it to the POI folder in the NUVI2455. Using the standard tour. I was hoping for some screen shot of config that works for somebody using it on a 24xx .
  5. I picked up a NUVI2455 and was able to load the geocaches as gpi file, but they are not using the traditional geocache icons nor do they display the name of a cache. I use GSAK for gpi/gpx file creation but have not really found how to get the right icon set or name display. I use the smart tags to create short ids (ie %dif1a/%ter1a-%con1-%smart) under 14 characters. Anyone find a successful solution? Note: I know about macros on GSAK. I am mainly looking for the configuration that produces a geocache icon (and/or just name if possible) on the map screen of the NUVI2455 so I can see caches as I drive.

    TB Hotels

I want to recommend that the trackable record for the TB hotel display a check-in and check-out date for each. (based on the drop/retrieve log. Anyone know of any discussions on this? (Kind of like a real hotel stay)
  7. I am in favor of the BLUE DNF smiley on maps. If there is a special icon for premium and owned, then why not DNF. It just makes sense and provides value.
  8. I agree that the data is constantly updating, but just a monthly snapshot would suffice . I would hope GC.com would have the capability to publish. But so far it seems that the consensus is that it is not possible or currently available. Hypothetically, what would work outside of GC.com reports?
  9. One thing that doesn't help (especially for newby's) is when the TB # is so small or on the edge of something. Don't get me wrong. I like an awesome coin. But if I didnt know about TBs, I'd think it was a serial #. Maybe numbers should be more prominant????!!!!
  10. I've searched without a hit, so I am posting the question here! How can I get the statistics on ALL caches that are active? I am looking for something like the statistics page that each profile has for their finds. My specific interest is the average D/T of all caches, but other info would be interesting. IE for the dates placed chart, it could summarize active caches placed on a calendar date. Daily would be idea, but a monthly update would be nice. Yearly is better than nothing. I appreciate your observations!
  11. Thanks Eartha....I didn't know it was taboo. I'll keep it in the "real world!"
  12. I received mine on 2/6/13! Memphis, TN. They are veryt nice coins! Thanks so much MineLab! I was surprised the tracking number is not on the larger coin. The small letters on the smaller coin will cause many to pass on discovery. So, to get it started, I thought I would let anyone reading this post to have first discovery. <secret tracking number removed by moderator so the geocoin page doesn't get locked for good.>
  13. Sorry if this was already posted, but my thought is: If a cache is archived and a TB is in it, then the trackable(s) should be automatically moved to a "missing" status in the trackable owners inventory. If a trackable does not move after X months or Y logs, then the trackable(s) should be automatically moved to a "missing" status in the trackable owners inventory. ..or anything better than the current setup!
  14. DNF blue makes sense in so many ways. IE when you don't get any, they call it "blue" B---- When you are sad, you are "blue" tunes about bad times are called the "blues" I like change, so lets get it right!
  15. I enjoy getting the notification emails, but would like to propose filters for the notification for certain details like difficulty/terrain. IE, Difficulty => 2, Terrain =>2 or container <> micro, etc. I hope this could get some consideration or following. GC4EVR
  16. Please share your experiences with dropping/submerging your Garmin 60series under water. I frequently have my unit with me on kayak and have a floatation device on it. I know the unit by itself will not float , but is supposed to be water resistant according to GARMIN . I am curious about exactly how water resistant it is. If the GPS unit goes overboard and I retrieve it from the water, what can I expect? Include an estimate duration underwater. Assume that the battery case is properly closed, the ports are properly "plugged" as designed. All GPS underwater stories welcome.
  17. I would like to know when caches are published that would show up in my PQ, which happens to have a DIff/Terr minimum and a container size filter. I dont want to see every micro or every cache under a 2/2. Are the notification options going to include this enhancement at some time? I hate micro's and their notifications
  18. I wanted to recommend that geocaching.com create a page to view the statistics for the entire population and sub populations of all active cache's. IE Similar to how individual cachers have 'find' stats, etc, It would be interesting to see what the entire cache population (991K+) stats are and be able to get stats by country or state or state quivalent (not sure if county would be feasible). It would be interesting to see how an individual cacher stacks up to the population and specific sub population. Anyone know if this exists anywhere already?
  19. WHen I first started, I didnt realize how important the ID would be. I would like to change it to something a bit 'friendlier' Is there a way to do it and keep all of my logs /finds. Suggestions anyone?
