  1. Thanks to all the volunteers, the teams, and especially Nancois and TracerBullet. The Geocaper allows me to share my love of puzzles with another of my favorite things (Geocaching). Yes, for those who are wondering, I already have ideas bouncing around in my head for next year. I promise to bring the difficulty of the puzzles down a notch or two (or maybe provide a few more clues). Thanks again and see you next year!
  2. We have had one team spot become available for this year's Gala. We will offer the spot to a team on a first come first serve basis. If you are interested please contact me via e-mail. I will respond and notify you if you have been added to the guest list or placed on the waiting list. ~Truly, the Butler
  3. All of the team spots have now been filled. We are still looking for a few people to help us the day of the event. If you are interested in attending, please let us know. Truly, ~the Butler
  4. Mr. Boddy has informed me that there is only one team spot left for the Summer Gala. He also sends his warmest thanks for the teams that have RSVP'd so far. ~Truly, the Butler
  5. Mr. Boddy apologizes for hosting is annual Summer Gala the same weekend as Champoeg. All of his other summer weekends were already filled with various social commitments. He and the Boddy staff will miss our guests that will be attending the Champoeg event. Sincerely, ~the Butler
  6. This year's Geocaper will be on July 18th from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm. The Geocaper staff have been working hard to bring you another exciting fun filled day of puzzles and other exciting surprises. The cache page should be up by May 1st. I'll add a link as soon as it is listed. JavaDuck The cache page is up. Geocaper IV: Mr. Boddy's Summer Gala
  7. Hi all! It's time to start planning for the 4th annual Geocaper. If you are interested in being on the organizing side of this great event, please send me an email. We are planning to have our first meeting in February. We then meet every 2 to 3 weeks through the end of April. Starting in May we meet every two weeks. Then Mid June until the event it is usually once a week. We usually meet on the weekends. It is not necessary to be at every meeting. For those cachers that like being on the participant side, stay tuned! We will reveal this year's theme by the end of February. JavaDuck
  8. I've posted this on the event cache page, but wanted to say thanks to all the teams that participated in this year's Geocaper. And a HUGE THANK YOU to Nancois, TracerBullet, Ragman, and Squeak2Me for helping organizing this year's event. And another HUGE THANK YOU to Mudsneaker, DragonFly, Dave of GrnXHam, GrumpyMarien, and Melanie for all their help during the event. Hope to see you all next year!
  9. Just want to give some clarification. If a team spot becomes available, we will be contacting teams on the wait list. If no teams on the wait list are interested in an open spot, we will post a note on the cache page and in the Amazing Geocaper thread in the forums.
  10. The picnic at the end has a covered shelter, running water, and nearby bathrooms. So there will be plenty of shade while you enjoy your hot dog!
  11. The Amazing Geocaper is all set and ready to start go on this Saturday. We are looking forward to a great day of puzzle solving, caching, and all around fun. All the teams should have a great day!
  12. I'll be there with my trusty good ole GPS! Excpept for my first outing on the good ole GPS accuracy game (dead last, and pretty close to being in the wrong zipcode). I've had a pretty good record. Last time first out on 1st by just a quarter of inch!! Thanks to everyone for putting this together! I have a good idea of the time and committment it takes! It is greatly appreciated!
  13. Cachers that are interested in participating in the event can post a message here or on the cache page to see if one of the registered teams have space on their team. Teams are allowed to have up to 6 people on the team. I will be organizing all the data regarding teams this weekend. At that time, I will have a better idea of how many teams are able and willing to have another cacher join their team. JavaDuck
  14. All team spots for the Amazing Geocaper are now full! We had an amazing response this past week and the spots filled up quickly. We are still taking names of intersted teams in case of cancellations. I will be notifying teams in the next week, to see if any of them have any openings for cachers to join their team. We look forward to seeing all the teams in July!
  15. Hi all! Wow, we have already had a great response to this event. We already have 9 teams registered, so just 3 spots left. If registered teams have a few spots left for other cachers, please post a note here. I know a few are looking for a team. Remember teams can have between 3 and 6 cachers. JavaDuck
  16. Hi FairHoney, Thanks for offering to help out. Send me an email and we can work things out.
  17. The Geocaper is a puzzle and cache race. The puzzles are similar to the many puzzle cache pages you see on here. Instead of solving for coordinates you will be solving for a word. Solve the puzzle get the coordinates for the next puzzle, etc. Yes, this year's theme is the Amazing Race, the past two years it has been the Goonies and Willy Wonka. The spots seem to be filling up quickly this year and there seems to be a lot of interest. If you're interested, please send me an email with the information listed on the cache page to reserve your spot. 5 spots of 12 have already been filled. So just 7 spots are left. The organizers are busy planning a day of fun and surprises! JavaDuck
  18. Just a quick update! We already have 3 teams signed up for this great event. Teams can be anywhere from 3 to 6 people. Due to the nature of the event, we can only take up to 12 teams. Spots will be first come, first serve. I know that there are at least 3 other teams that have expressed interest. Again, we are looking for a 2-3 volunteers to help us the day of the event. JavaDuck
  19. I'm pleased to announce the date of the 3rd annual geocaper! This year our theme is the Amazing Race. Check out the Amazing Geocaper cache page. It provides all the necessary information etc. We are looking for 2-4 volunteers to help us on the day of the event. If you are looking for another cacher to fill out your team, use this forum! See you in July! We are busy planning another fun filled day! JavaDuck
  20. Thanks DiMonkey! If there is anything we need help with that will not give away some of the event details, we will let you know. More details will be released soon.
  21. Thanks Shop99er, I will have a date at the end of the month. Again, if anyone wants to help out (the day of or the big planning part) send me an email. No puzzle experience needed. JavaDuck
  22. It will be in Tacoma again. I have a few areas in mind, just want to meet with the other organizers before we decide on a final location. If you're interested in volunteering send me an email and I will add it the list of possible volunteers for the event. Thanks!
  23. Thanks for the heads up on the 26th date! I'm learning towards the 19th (that would be the same weekend that the past two Capers have been on). Thanks Team Misguided! We definitely could use the help the day of the event. No puzzle solving required for the volunteers.
  24. Thanks Dave! It will probably be the 19th or 26th. When I meet with the other organizers we will select a date. Hope you can help out!
  25. Thanks WeightMan! The Geocaper (Geocaching and puzzle event race). The event involved teams of 3 to 6 finding caches and solving puzzles (word puzzles, brain teasers, etc). Once a team solves a puzzle they get the coordinates to the next location. The past two event pages should give you more information. Steve
