  1. Hi all I have the 550t and use it extensively on my push bike which I find it is great for. I want to know if anyone can help me with resetting some of the data fields to zero without resetting everything to zero? For instance, I want to reset my average speed back to zero but I want to keep the trip odometer counting up. The only thing I can see to do from the menu is to reset every data field to zero. thanks for any replies. Ray.
  2. Great thanks for that. Looking forward to a good week in aberfeldy.
  3. I would like to say thankyou as well. I recently bought a give away priced oregon 550t and with your experimental os50 maps it is brilliant. Saved a pretty penny on the garmin ones. thanks again
  4. I have just upgraded to premium to take advantage of paperless ready for a big push in Perth next week. I have downloaded a shed load of caches to the oregon but i can't see the hint in the cache details. Any help greatly received. many thanks.
  5. Hi I found muggles not to be a problem really as it is fairly busy and no one seems to take notice of you. Some caches warned about the police but never had any problems with these either, maybe the locations were not in 'sensitive ' areas? I found 12 and had 3 DNF. I planned a route from the train down to the river and back again and never used the tube. What surprised me was how far we walked in a day...15miles...My wife thought it was about 5 miles but the gps does not lie! Goldpot. Many thanks for your hides as we went to places we never would have. I'm planning to go again to complete a couple of multis. Thanks.
  6. Spent a day caching in London. Not everyone's cup of tea I know but I really enjoyed it. Got a train ticket for 10 pounds return into king's cross and armed with a pre-planned route off I went. It made a change not doing all the regular tourist stuff and found some lovely tucked away spots. There were some very clever hides and some containers that the cache hiders obviously spent a lot of time and effort creating.
  7. thanks for the input. my mate uses a geko and is pleased with it. it just seemed to me that the etrex looked a little more modern so i was wondering if it was more powerful. it was not the H version btw. think i will get the geko. thanks ray
  8. hello looking for a usable gps on a very limited budget! have found the geko 201 and the basic etrex. both around 30 pounds. any preference from anyone on which would be the best? mainly concerned about accuracy rather than weight size etc. i am using a magellan sportrak pro borrowed from a friend but i am not happy with the accuracy even after it has been re-aligned and it eats batteries! many thanks ray
  9. i use them on the fire engine at work. mark the position of the incident using the vehicle mounted terminal, radio it to control room, they relay it to other pumps, air ambulance etc etc, they input on their vehicle mounted terminals, very accurate os map displays and guides you in. one of the best equipment purchases the brigade ever made.
