  1. Hi, I used to work for the Geomate.jr prior to its shut down. I am not sure if the new company has much intelligence going on in regards to support, so here is a link to a new facebook group should any one need questions answered. http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Fanofgeomate/348113058547155?sk=wall&filter=1 Thanks, Jo
  2. Hi, I used to work for Geomate.jr prior to another company coming in and killing it. I doubt there will be much on going support so there is a new facebook page where Geomate.jr users can get help for support issues. http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Fanofgeomate/348113058547155?sk=wall&filter=1 Jo

  4. Hi Dex, This is Jo, i was the person who was helping you at Geomate.jr until all the Apisphere staff were laid off at the beginning of Jan. I actually spoke to the person who was taking over the Geomate at Airity about your request for a new Update Kit and they told me that they would handle it. Did they ever get back to you? I am so sorry if they did not. If any one else is reading this, please know that all these changes happened in a very short time and the staff of Geomate.jr tried everything in our power to prevent 2m/Airity from taking the Geomate.jr. As we knew that they neither understood or cared about the Geocaching community. We had worked so hard over the last few years on the Geomate.jr, and more importantly we felt that the Geomate.jr still had more to give. To see it end like this is very hard for us to watch. We had been lucky to be embraced into the geocaching community and we have met some great people along the way. So thank-you to you all and again we are deeply sorry for the ending of the Geomate.jr. Jo Dex, if you want an Update Kit still please PM me, i may be able to find one for you.
  5. Hi, My name is Joanna and I work for Geomate.jr. I would be happy to go over the features of the Geomate.jr with you to see if it is a fit. My email is jo.vaughn@apishere.com Thanks, Jo
  6. Hi, I just wanted to let you know that we do work with Firefox, there is just one setting that needs to be changed. Here is what needs to be changed. (Dont worry it is simple!) We are continuing to work on eliminating this step. You will need to change some security settings on Firefox. You will need to: 1.Type "about:config" into the URL address field and hit "enter". After saying "yes, I'll be careful", This will open up and new window. 2.Now find the entry labeled "signed.applets.codebase_principal_support" (It’s near the bottom) 3.Change the value to "true" by double clicking "false". You are now ready to go. I hope this helps, we know it isn't perfect, but as i said we are working on getting it to be a simple smooth update. Thanks, Jo if you have any questions please email me at jo.vaughn@apisphere.com

  8. Hi, I work for Apisphere and I would like to help, but can you give me some more details.... does the geomate do nothing, or is it the computer not reconizing the Update Kit? To log your cache as found press and hold the small button, until 'cache saved' pops up on the screen. Email me at jo.vaughn@apipshere.com and we can get you updated in no time! Thanks, Jo
  9. Hi, I work for Apisphere, and i just wanted to let you know that we are working on the 6/2/2010 issue. We are hoping that we have it reset and the current database will load tonight. If anyone is having issues getting a PQ loaded please contact me directly at jo.vaughn@apisphere.com or via the phone on 510 868 2655 x 24. Thanks, Happy New Year!
  10. Hi stsawyer. Sorry if i am a bit late coming into this.... I work for Geomate.jr and i wanted to bring your attention to one feature we have called 'custom cache'. This allows you to input your own waypoints into the geomate.jr. It is a web based interface that allows you to input the co-ordinates, diff/terrain rating, size and even a short name. You can input upto 500 waypoints and then download them into the Geomate.jr. As stargazer22 mentioned only 1 cable is needed for mulitple Geomate.jrs. You can view it on our webiste under the tab updates. mygeomate.com I hope this helps! If you have any other questions you may contact me directly at jo.vaughn@apisphere.com Thanks!
  11. Hi, I work for Geomate. A couple of things i just want to mention. You can add in upto 500 custom caches (waypoints) Not just 5! 5 would be too easy! Also we are working on bringing out Pocket Query support. So watch this space... Thanks!
  12. Just a note: The Geomate does give co-ords of your current location. They are set within the menu pages. You need to be on the 'Navigation Page' represented by a small 'N' in the bottom right corner. Then click through using the larger of the buttons. The Lat and Long are displayed on two separate pages. Thanks!
  13. Thank-you to ocm_ott for translating. I work for Apisphere, who creates the Geomate.jr and we can offer reduced pricing for bulk quanities for Scouts. We have the ability to enter in your own co-ordinates via our website and the Geomate is very simple to use! (but i would say that wouldn't I ) I can be contacted at jo.vaughn@apisphere.com. Brossalma i hope to hear from you, Thanks! Jo
  14. Hi, IowaJuggalos, if you want to email me directly, i can explain the database that is included in the Geomate. Jo.vaughn@apisphere.com. The database that come preloaded into the geomate has been pre-filtered to include caches that are, in our eyes, family friendly and have longevity. As the other poster mentioned, getting the cable. Whilst it is not nessecary, it will give you access to a wider range of caches. Again, i hate to see someone so fraustrated, so please email me and i will help you out! Thanks! Jo
