  1. #1 on my geowishlist is a reliable geomobile that gets better than 16MPG #2 on my geowishlist is an attractive human female (or two) with questionable morals to ride shotgun in said geomobile. I think both items are self-explanatory. That may be the best answer to any question ever.
  2. Love it. I loved CYOA books when I was a kid but I can see why someone would want to try all of the options. I dont know if a lot of cachers would take the time to do that for 1 find. Me personally I would and then I would email you and let you know which one I enjoyed most. I say do it and if anyone gritches about it they can go find more urban nano's to boost their numbers. Geocaching to me is about the adventure and the find, you will give both with this cache, awesome idea
  3. I have a personal rule : for every FTF I get I have to hide a cache, its my own rule and I am religious about it. So I thought I would come up with a series that has that as a rule. I am trying to keep it local but my question is has it been done before? And as cachers do you like this idea? The local cachers around here seem to be getting into it. There is also a TB that goes into each new cache in the series. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...fb-63e778b15bed If you dont want to click on the link here is how it breaks down Do you like to get FTF's? Of course you do and that's why I started this game. I call it "Tag you're it" because if you get the FTF its in your hands for the game to continue. Here are the rules: 1. If you get the FTF you will have one week to hide the next cache in this series. 2. There is a travel Bug that goes with this so please take it and put it in your hide for the next FTF'er. 3. If you get a FTF in this series please do not try for another one until the 2nd cache after your hide. In other words I wont be able to got after an FTF until Tag your it # 4. This way we can get more cachers to participate. If someone hides a cache in this series that goes un found for a week all bets are off go for it to keep the game going. 4. Lets keep it in the Magic Valley for now. Boundaries will be West = Bliss North = Shoshone South = Jackpot and East = Raft River. If you are the FTF Please feel free to copy and paste the above rules for your hide and if there are any questions or anyone wants to change or add to the game feel free to email me eridge74@gmail.com There are no longer additional logging requirements allowed so I am not going to try to enforce the "rules" however I think this will be a fun game and if it can make it to # 50 or go a year there will be a small prize for the cacher with the most FTFs/Hides. Plus that means there will be many more caches in the valley for everyone. I just hid FTF Tag Youre It #5 after getting the ftf on #4 so the game is moving along great I would really like your thoughts
  4. There are a lot of caches in Brookings. I can't remember any extra special ones but the one that is located in the tower near the school is pretty cool. There is also one on a red metal sculpture that I really enjoyed. Hope you have a good time! StaticTank Thank you I will make sure I check those out I hope t grab as many as possible but I want the very unique ones for sure
  5. *tap tap tap* is this thing on? hahaha OK maybe no one is here from that area no big deal. I still look for ward to coming out and seeing this area. I have never been here before and I hear its pretty cool.
  6. I have to go out to my corporate office for a few days and want to cache in the evenings. Just wondering if anyone has suggestions of caches that are unique that I should hit. Im going to get as many as I can in this area just wondering about the cant miss ones. Also I am bringing 10 plus TB's with me to swap so what are the best TB hotels in the area for trading bugs. Any suggestions or volunteer tour guides? Feel free to email me from my profile too. Thanks Eridge74
  7. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...46-5129f7ab9f57 the GC is GCY0DB Thins is the most inventive cache I have seen and guaranteed to make you smile.
  8. I started to get to be a FTF hound but quickly figured out how pathetic it was. I have 16 FTF's out of 276 total. That is all since March 1 2009. But after a while I almost felt guilty. So my rule now is for every FTF I get I have to have a hide. I am now up to 17 hides. I think that is a fair trade off. The local FTF hounds here love to brag about it in their logs, but they are kind of laughed at by the local cachers in general. If every FTF hound adopted my rule there would always be a lot of new caches. Oh well I guess now every FTF I go after will be to try and ruin the local FTF hounds day.
  9. Eridge74, Rather than throw your 40 into the Snake River Canyon you can mail it to me. I'd be glad to pay for shipping and you wouldn't have to worry about CITO . Hahahahaha but it would be fun to watch it sail through the air, the breif moment of satisfaction before realizing what I had just done. Naw actually just got off the phone with tech support and they are second to none. They solved all of the issues I was having in a 5 minute phone call. So it hasnt grown wings yet
  10. You have to buy a thing called cache register from delorme for 10 bucks. From what I am reading on Delorme forums it is not working well. Delorme is not GSAK compatible yet as far as I know either. I am ready to throw my PN40 into the Snake River Canyon here in Twin Falls ID..... but the n I would have to CITO it back out. Good luck and if anyone knows more than me here I would love to know this too
  11. I think its an awesome idea. any FTF prize is cool. I have 11 FTF and 2 of them had prizes. I kept both prizes, still have them and even get them out and look at them once in a while. It would be cool to get a personalized bumper sticker, even if it doesnt go on the truck.
  12. The Perrine bridge in Twin Falls I84 exit 173. Looks like you will be right there. Canyon is less than 5 miles south of the exit.
  13. Red Vines, pretzels, Gatorade, with a Ritz Cracker chaser. That seems to work for me everytime. Also a jar of honey roasted peanuts does the trick.
  14. Mine is simple enough its what my wife calls me, kinda of a nickname I guess. Its the first 3 letters of my first name, and the last 3 letters of our last name, plus my birth year
  15. I just got a great deal on bisons on ebay, and that is where I get most of my stuff
  16. Geocaching - Kicking Brush and Taking Swag
  17. I often wondered the same thing. I thought the 50-60 age would be higher. BTW 34 here
  18. I dont know if this will help because I'm new too but for my PN40 I find the cache I want and click the Send to GPS button . You obviously have to have it hooked up to the computer ith the USB cable. I dont know how to do a mass load so I load mine one at a time from the cache page that I am going after. Hope this helps.
  19. thanks, I had forgotten where I had read that, but I dont know about the FRS/PMR thing I have a Midland gxt850 and could not find that in the menu, however I'll take it out with me and see what happens
  20. I got my Delorme PN 40 and I am on the hunt! Now my question is how many of you carry walkie talkies? Is there a universal channel for geocachers ? I read somewhere that cachers use channel 2 so I am wondering if that is true. If not is there a channel that cachers use? thanks for any help
