  1. If I'm reading the newsletter correctly, this year will be the final Block Party. What do you 'spose GS has come up with to take its place?
  2. Where did you get this from? CO's are not responsible to move travelers out of their caches, regardless of what the cache is called, including TB Hotels. That being said, for the OP, I'm not making a special trip just cause a traveler owner is in a hurry. If I'm doing maintenance on a cache and see that a traveler has been there for a while, I'll grab it and move it along. I would send him a note, delete his note on my cache page, and go on about my business.
  3. If you decide to mail it, you can send it to me, and I'll take care of it. Not knowing its mission, I could take it to Seattle, and then down to Portland, where I would drop it off.
  4. The only way CM participants won't do the Keep Out caches is if they aren't on the list/map. Yes, some will check for any that are nearby, but most will move along. If the CO's are adamant about not doing their caches, the best thing IMO would be to disable and pull them for the week before the CM. Jim, I assume you're kidding about deleting the attended logs. Since the evnet is the dinner and not the CM, that would raise a major stink, I think.
  5. They're paying for the wi-fi, not any of us are. If they want to block particular sites (which I seriously doubt is what happened), that's entirely within their rights. Contrary to the current "I'm entitled" mind-set in this country, TB does not owe anyone any wi-fi access.
  6. It's $30 every couple of years or so. If you're not willing to support Clyde and his efforts, then don't use it.
  7. Can I interest you in this one? If you're interested, email me through my profile, please.
  8. Whenever there are big events in Europe, particularly in Germany, The various Slavic countries, or Portugal, I'll get a slew of discovered logs on several of my trackables. Now, since those very items have never left my house, the logs get deleted toot-sweet. And I do not explain why. They know they never saw it/them.
  9. The functionality is still available on the site: simply go to the advanced search page, select "By Country/State", and then select the country and state of interest to you. You can bookmark the results to have easy access to the same search. As has been mentioned, we are completely overhauling the user profile and this work will be done in a sprint or two. At that time, users will not have mailing address settings listed in their profile anymore, so the link as it existed on the page would become less and less relevant. So how much more do you plan on taking away? It is frustrating having things you used for years removed, seemingly with out any consideration of the user. And mostly as an unpleasant surprise. You guys have no concept of customer service. The multiclick exercise certainly is not a good solution to replace a single click solution. This whole release is a load of BS! Why do you folks insist on making changes just for the sake of change? Someone would think this was a Navy-run operation with that going on. Howzabout paying attention to what your customers want, and use that info for change making? Everytime this sort of thing happens, we (the users) wind up getting $(%*)#d. 3,4,5 clicks replacing 1. Yeah, that's a good idea! Sheesh!!
  10. You're not allowed to sell non-trackables on this forum. You need to edit out that last photo before you get in trouble.
  11. I ordered one on the first day, and haven't seen it. Hell, I'm still waiting for the Geico tag I ordered on that first day...
  12. Something to keep in mind---public land doesn't mean you can do what you want. Someone manages it, and is responsible for it. Washington State Parks leaps to mind. It was years before the Parks Department would allow caches in the parks.
  13. Anyone interested in adopting this cache? http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC15BRQ_spotting-this-cache-is-not-so-easy I'm thinking very hard about archiving it.
  14. I finished the 7 at the Block Party. My Achiever was on the page the next day. I didn't do nothin'
  15. Not coming to the block party? I'm so bummed, no. I'm going to the International Pathfinder Camporee in Oshkosh, WI, which is on the same weekend. I'm happy to volunteer and be a youth leader, but I wish that they were on different weekends! Well poo...This is the first year I've been able to go to the BP. BOT, I still have to find a multi to finish this little exercise. Much nice that the mess last year.
  16. The FTF chase around here used to be great fun, whether you got it or not. For us, it was more a way to get together. Now though, there's only a couple of us from that mob still active. The rest have called it a day. There was also none of the "co-FTF" nonsense. One person was first, everyone else wasn't.
  17. I know that PortersinWa are planning on going. At least he is. He's my ride.
  18. A newbie posted a note that the PDX Airport TB hotel was missing. Grain of Salt---This character has zero finds listed, and just started this month.
  19. Nope. You've already done everything you can.
  20. Thanks. We only made 100 of them back in, um.......2006. I think other than the three in my case, I have 2 left awaiting to be dropped in some awe-inspiring location yet TBD. I bagged one of them in about 06, when you guys were up here for the Fling. I lost count of the offers I've had for it. Would you be interested in one of the coins Misguided One and I made a few years ago? This is the original concept art: The thing is huge---we call it The Coaster.
  21. I've had as many as 30 in my hot little TB bag a time or two. Move them in a reasonable amount of time, and you'll be fine. Bottom line, there is no official upper limit.
  22. Not necessarily. You might find the practice annoying, but the next person might not. Me, for example.
