  1. "On the main page of the app, click the phone's "Menu" button and select "settings". You'll probably also want to set the search filter to "Advanced" and select "Hide Finds"." Thanks for the quick response and assistance! ....just moved to the Droid X and learning the ins and outs of the phone and this program.
  2. downloaded the app today, didn't take too very long, and pq just a few minutes for 278. Looks good so far, except one issue, caches are listed in km instead of miles. I could see nowhere for "help" to find out how to fix that. Is there a "help" I'm overlooking? otherwise, how can this be changed? thanks for this, I've used the BB version (way small fonts, needed magnifying glass often) and ipod (very similar to this). thanks so much!
  3. one man's trash is another's...... We haven't gotten kid's meals in a long time, but had some "toys" from way back. To me they are neat finds for kids--tops, bratz doll, disney figures, ty beanies. Are kids in need of video games now? sheesh. Screen cleaners, new batteries (in package), coins, pewter figures, pencils, note pads, post-its (packaged) are among some of the swag I leave. When its my cache, the quality goes up. Just putting them out, but will have packaged camo hat, books, notebooks, book light, etc. I almost never take anything, almost always leave at least one adult thing and one kid thing. If there's only trash in a cache, I clean it up and put extra stuff in. Why sweat the small stuff? It's all about the hunt, and finding a really neat item is just a bonus once in awhile. My biggest complaint is trying to find a cache in the midst of an obvious dump off place for the ignoramuses out there. It's all about the fun, and if it isn't fun, why do it? 8^)
  4. Newbie here...... I must admit that I still have alot to learn about trackables of all sorts. I've spent the time necessary reading to realize that they need to be logged quickly, moved within a reasonable amount of time and sent in the appropriate direction. I try to make sure the cache I use is well visited. From what I've noticed I believe there could be more done to help educate the uneducated. If a coin is just laying in the bottom of a cache, folks who are occasional cachers are more likely to mistake them as freebies or not know how to handle them. I've seen tbs & gcs sent in the opposite direction from their goal, and read logs from people who let their kids pick out some neat "pretties" without bothering to deposit an equal trade (making me think they're letting the kids grab whatever is in there). Today out of curiosity I decided to investigate a missing tb. I followed the trail to someone with "grandpa" as part of his "name" who had mentioned he picked up a tb around the time the missing one would have been in the cache, but he had no logs at all for any trackables in his profile. I'm sure it was an honest mistake and he's forgotten he even has it. I think each trackable needs to be well sealed in a sturdy bag with the goal and short "rules of logging/moving" included. just my 2 cents, Dleel
