  1. Using Mapsource City Select for Charlotte it was about 4Mb for just the city. When I selected the rest of the state it was about 44Mb. Some selections overlapped into adjoining states a little bit. All of NC is approximately 38 maps that make up that approximately 44Mb. Hope this answers your question more directly.
  2. Page 15 in your manual explains how you can select what you wish to be active from what you have loaded.
  3. They actually have a different name as far as naming conventions goes...their name begins with "The" and your name does not have that in front of it. They are listed as - The Old Fogies
  4. Lets do this the easy way... For the 60CS use 60CS Update For the 60C use 60C Update
  5. looks like it, 76S = 2.9" diagonal 76CS = 2.6" diagonal I am not sure where you got your specs for the screen, but at the Garmin site the spec is the same for both the 60c and the 76c. 1.5" W x 2.2" H; 2.6" diagonally
  6. It kept telling you to turn around because you had set a route and then activated it after you got onto the highway. The GPS was simply doing its job and telling you that you had to turn around in order to get to the first waypoint on your programmed route. You skipped the first point according to what you stated.
  7. How do you revert back to V3.0???
  8. I have version 3.0 loaded and I do not have the Beta version loaded. I have seen this line show up during shutdown every once in a while. No big deal.
  9. I am not aware of a way to find that on the 60C itself, but on your PC in Mapsource if you click on the Map tab you will see at the bottom just how many maps you have loaded and the total size they are taking up on your GPS. Probably this is all that is needed since it is the source point for adding and getting rid of map regions in the GPS. Hope this helps a little.
  10. You have an REI store in Reno and up my way those stores have a computer Topo map kiosk in them.
  11. Glad it worked for you. I also have Bluechart V5.5 and I can't wait to load that onto my gps for certain boat trips. I am on the south shore...but often launch out of Lanes Cove up on Cape Ann. Perhaps see you out on the water or at some hydrocache! Cheers
  12. I have metroguide and with it you can select portions of regions to the 60c. Example is that I loaded the areas from Cape Cod(MA) up to Portsmouth(NH) and that brings over the Points of Interest that are available from your map program. You need to use the map select tool on your particular Mapsource program and then upload it to the GPS.
  13. I don't think that it is Topo that has that database of info. I have Metro but not Topo and I have the tide points. Works just like my map76 for the tidal data.
  14. If it is really nasty and cold and you don't want to keep opening up your jacket and caring for the gps, I have found this case and those little disposable hand warmer packs to be a great combination to keep gear warm. Case I just wrap the heat pack in some scrap terry cloth to cut down its warmth a bit. Heat
  15. Hey thanks! I didn't see the marine POI. I had played with the unit prior to loading the maps and didn't see the Marine info so I assumed I had to continue with Tide Tools on my Palm T3...nice to have it consolidated. Now it seems that memory is the only differentiating feature between it and the 76 series.
  16. So, did you have to install any drivers or anything like that? Did it make a port in windows? I have the belkin adapter as well and it works great on my laptop Pc. It came with drivers and was a quick 5 minute install and I use it with Mapsource Metro
  17. Briansnat... Those Bison cylinders look great. I did a Google search on them but no joy. Any suggested sources or other names they go by? Thanks!
