My request is for education on trackables when someone signs up to Geocaching.com. Many new members are not taking the time to educate themselves on how to log trackables out of a cache or log them into a new cache. I have found members are writing in their log that they picked up a trackable but they did not log it out. I have seen other cases where someone will just keep a coin that they find in a cache thinking it is a tradeable item for them to keep. The education could be in the form of an automated email to the new member that signs up on how trackables work and that they are to be moved on and not kept. Many of us are spending a fair chunk of coin on purchasing these trackables so we would like to see them do what they were purchased to do.

Why not stop part of the problem at the source? Many new to caching do not take the time to learn the Do's and Don'ts of trackable items and thus the items go missing when they grab a shiny coin. I am not saying all items go missing this way but I am sure it is a large percent. When people sign up for a Geocaching Account they should automatically be sent an email that they must read that states what to do and not do with trackable items and a time frame for moving them along. I think some people think trackables are SWAG for them to keep because they did not bother to come to this website and read up on trackables.
