  1. They gave me a CD with the images. I'm supposed to give it to my obstetrician when I make an appointment. Is there something you haven't told us?
  2. Owowowowowowow!!! Keep this up and you'll be a bonafide, card-carrying member of the gimp squad. I'm glad it wasn't worse; it's bad enough. Take care of you!
  3. With all that weight you've lost, you don't have any more ballast! Be careful! Don't make me hike up a mountain to *thwap* ya! Glad you're okay, and I am SO envious of those of you who can make these treks. Oh, how I'd love to have the capability.
  4. Majestic, you guys! Glad you had such an awesome (and safe) experience.
  5. I was just teasing...I'm excited for the both of them (and anyone else who is going), if not a bit envious that I wish I could make it. Just be careful out there, gentlemen! I know I don't need to remind you of that, but saying it shows you I care.
  6. IronMaiden...you're letting FE go? I thought he was grounded. Looks like a seriously awesome hike...maybe I can make it in my next lifetime.
  7. I'm moved in and unpacked, and ready for company should cachers find themselves in my little corner of the planet. Sadly, my bike was stolen on my third day here. I'm still not sure how to behave; so much of my life took place on my bicycle. I'm hoping it will come back to me more than I'm hoping to get another bike. If you're inclined to pray, or send positive thoughts, or wish good thoughts for its return, I'll be forever indebted to you.
  8. Congrats, Allanon! Glad that your "Plan B" worked out! Wahooo! Way to go, Froomlord!!!
  9. And a very nice room, at that! Thanks, everyone, for your wonderful comments and encouragement. I'm truly blessed to know you.
  10. When I first moved to Washington in January of last year, I was a different person. Much more disabled, shy, withdrawn, didn't know who I was or what (and how long) was ahead of me...some of you know my [hi]story and some of you don't, but it's in the past, so it really doesn't matter any longer. In the time I've been here, I've become acquainted with so many wonderful people. I've been invited on all-day cache trips to Mt. Snoqualmie...there's nothing like a snowball fight in June. I've been with others when discovering a majestic spot for the first time, its beauty so incredible that words failed us all. I made it all the way to the finish of a Hike of the Month, even if it was the easiest so far and I did have to do it by Pyecycle . I've attended so many events that I've lost count (and I've quit logging online, so that's no help), meeting people from all walks of life, brought together by a GPSr and a penchant for finding (and/or hiding) hidden treasure. My health is immensely better. I ride a bike now, because I can! My awareness has increased, my compassion has bloomed, and my spirit is about a gazillion times bigger. I'm more outgoing than I ever dreamed I'd be, especially considering a determined introvert is still lurking within me. This magical place, and the wonderful people I've met on my journey, my path thus far, have made such a difference in my life. I'm feeling especially grateful for the abundance I have...I wanted to pass along some of my gratitude to the people who have accepted me into their flock and given me so many wonderful memories. I'm moving from Monroe to Sumas on Friday. This will mostly put me out of the loop I've been in with the friends I've come to know and love and giggle with at events. It will put me in a new caching circle, and I can only hope that its members will be as warm and welcoming as those of you of whom I've become so very fond. My life is so, so, so wonderful, and my friends here have played no small role in that. Thank you.
  11. I won't be attending as originally planned. I'm moving to middle-of-nowhere-Washington-might-as-well-be-Canada (aka Sumas).
  12. Thanks! But I had to do something to it. I didn't catch the camera was tilted when I set it up. Otherwise we woulda been leaning to our left. Since when has a tilted camera been a problem?
  13. I'd love to meet everyone and chat with friends, but I'm having some health issues that will prevent me from attending this evening's festivities. Have a grand get-together, though! For you out-of-towners...welcome to Paradise! Namaste'
  14. I have a bike you're more than welcome to use if you can get it to the trailhead and back; it should fit your frame by adjusting the height of the seat. Debchic, from Delaware, will be attending my event this Saturday and will be using it. I'm happy to loan it to cachers who would like to borrow it. I can't provide the transport for it, though, sorry.
  15. Perhaps we could make a group outing? I'm game to go again, esp. if earthcaches are on the agenda in addition to Ebey Bluffs (and I can do maintenance on my Perego's Lagoon cache and ensure hula-ing happens ). I even offer to chauffeur in the Hydi-mobile. To our visitor - what date do you have in mind for Whidbey? Still Thursday, July 3? Might be tougher to get up a group, but who knows. What night for Red Hook? Maybe we can post that separately as an event... Harriet, I'm game to go to Whidbey if you/I can't go with TrailGators. I bet you'll have a N48 group, eh? I want me some more earthcaches. Hey, keep me in the loop for this, if you don't mind. I don't know if I can do Ebey Bluffs, but I've not had the opportunity yet to try and would love to give it a go. The last time I was in that area, caching was still a thing of the future.
  16. I'm posting a pic of the bike; Allanon and I fixed the tire and changed the seat. This is a zippy bike...far more easily maneuverable than the Pyecycle, which, compared to this, "drives" like a boat. Or a Cadillac. Shoot me an email or PM if you'd like to borrow it for the event.
  17. The tunnel is open, and this event is a go! If someone would like to bike through, but doesn't have a bike, I may have an option for you. A few months ago, I found a men's mountain bike (nothing fancy) and turned it over to the Monroe Police Department with the hope that they could find the owner. They called yesterday to inform me that, because the owner never made a claim, the bike is mine if I want it. I haven't looked to see if the front tire can be repaired or if it will need a new tube and tire, but it will need some work. It might also need to have the seat replaced, but I have the old, non-cushy seat that used to be on my bike that can be swapped. If you want to make the repairs, you're more than welcome to borrow it to bike through the tunnel. I've already promised to give it to someone, but it's available to use until that time comes. Just let me know if you're interested. Walking or biking, this is gonna be fun. The breakfast meet and greet is a bonus.
  18. I hope you get some takers! That's too far for me to walk (as is the tunnel) but I might be able to make the trek of which you speak on a bike, which I hope to do some day. Sorry that Mr. B can't make it...this is shaping up to be a fun event! The breakfast is just the official kickoff.
  19. Doing what? Champoeg is in July, not June. You didn't read up far enough. The date was changed. Maybe some helpful mod will change the topic title. And then you didn't read down far enough. Now the Champoeg folks can attend, too. ETA: Maybe some helpful mod will change the topic title back.
  20. I think it's safe to say that there will probably be more hikers than bikers, so please attend if you can. I've ridden my bike almost every day for the past year, and I'm still intimidated by riding through the tunnel. I'm looking forward to it, but it's a bit daunting to think about. It's going to be a real adventure, that's for sure!
  21. ...and for your next earworm, doesn't All Aboard for Breakfast on the Iron Horse Express put a certain little retro-ditty in your head?
  22. Unfortunately, if the APE is still buried in snow, so are the hikeable camp locations up there. Lower down, The Tiger Mountain Trail has a very cool spot to camp at near this cache if you're up for a moderate hike to get there. According to the pics in one of the latest logs for the APE cache, it's no longer covered with snow, but there's still a goodly amount of the stuff at both ends of the tunnel. I've never camped in the area, but when googling ]Iron Horse tunnel camping, there were lots of links returned. And Totem Lake knows his stuff...I'd check out his recommendation. Hope to see you at the event!
  23. Some of the Pokey Plodders made it to the banner.
