2 complaints that we have come across lately: 1. When you post a "Found It" field note (not submitted live), that cache still displays in Find Nearest search feature. 2. Caches that are on your Ignore List still show up in the ap when searching for nearby caches. These features were taken into account in a previous version of this ap but, not in this current version (version 2.2 I believe)

The paper log is the only physical "evidence" that the cacher was indeed at the cache site, found the cache, and signed the log to note that find. If the online log was the only requirement, cachers could falsely claim a find by just submitting a "Found It". Not all online logs specifically state where they found the cache, what type of hide it was, what was in the cache, etc. If the online logs contained those items, they could also be used as further hints for future finders ("Spoilers" as is said in the business). I'll leave you with one last comment -- ALWAYS BRING A PEN/PENCIL WITH YOU!! You'll never know when you'll need it.

GCGQFQ: I thought this was actually my second find but, in my naivete, I thought it would suffice to say I saw a cache hanging in a tree. I didn't climb the tree and sign the log. "Found It" log was deleted by CO after checking the logbook. Hence, this became my first (of many) official find.

DonMurph -- Welcome to the World of Geocaching. My one suggestion to you is that there are a few upcoming events scheduled in your area which you might want to attend. There, you'll be able to meet other cachers and ask any questions you might have. I'm sure you'll get ALOT of information but, hopefully, you'll absorb the pertinent points that can help you on your way. I would also like to suggest you check out caches in Blydenburgh County Park. You can easily spend a whole day (or two) in there finding caches and there's a nice assortment of caches to be found. Just one warning -- It's ALOT of walking in there (Stump Pond tends to interfere with your straight-line approach to some of the caches on the other side) . I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on the use of camo on a cache. I hid tupperware containers and have discovered I used the wrong paint. Any suggestions on what type to use?
