  1. I have some stored caches that I haven't found from places i visited and will more than likely not go back to. At any rate - I know I can click on each one and delete it, but is there a way to bulk unload all caches that are stored on my unit. Like an erase all? I really don't check this forum much so feel free to asnwer me via email. hcvagasky@aol.com please put Geocaching Delete in the subject/regards line. Thank you in advance.
  2. I tried that, but it still did not work. I have several CA coins and I just got an answer why, but I also have a WA coin with both coin number and activation code and it would not let me. That is ok, I was keeping that WA coin anyway... Thanks for the input!
  3. I have activated them on the website for the coins, but can't on geocaching.com I have a coin number, but no activation code so the website won't let me. That is why I am asking how..??...The are older coins, CA geocoins from 2004 & 2005, maybe that is why - do newer coins come with coin number AND activation codes? I dropped out of the "game" while I moved and settled in, now I am back at it and have some older coins I want to put into inventory to drop into caches soon.... The 2004 and 2005 California geocoins were not trackable on geocaching.com, thus they cannot be put into your inventory. THANK YOU that tells me what the problem is....too bad

  5. Have YOU changed your caching name? No I have not changed my name.
  6. I have placed and found several coins over the years, but I took a break for a bit while I moved and things have changed. I see on the geocaching website that you can now put your coins into inventory so to speak (trackables on the profile page), but I can't seem to figure out how. I see the link for trackables, but it asks for the coin # and activation code. I don't have activation codes for my coins I only have coin numbers...I am stumpped as to how to place all of my coins into inventoy so that I can later put them into caches. Can someone please explain to me how to do this. Thanks in advance~
  7. I may be interested. I have been looking at the idea of getting a new modle. I don't have alot to spend, but on the other hand if I upgrade my thoughts are that i should do it right. I compared 4 eTrex models and liked the Vista HCx best. What is the differences between the newer HCx and the one you have? I don't always get onto these forums much so if you need to, you can e-mail me at hcvagasky@aol.com. Thanks.
  8. I have the yellow Garmin eTrex. I think I am plugged in via serial port (COMM). Lets put it this way, I know I am NOT pluggged in via USB. That certainly would explain why it will not work.
  9. I am not sure that I know what the IE is or how to open it.
  10. Yes, I did D/L that program, twice actually because I thought something might have gone wrong. Still no luck. Thanks for the idea though I have my DSL thru Windstram phone service. I had been using AOL so that suggestion gave me some thought, but I guess it is not the problem either. I just don't know what to try next. Thanks to everyone who has given me som input.
  11. I have been away for a while and now that I am caching agian there are some new features to the website...like the send to GPS button. I thought this was great untill I tried to use it. It seems to recognize my GPS unit (Garmin eTrex - yellow) and the Garmin website says that all is working properly, but when I hit this button I get an error message. Am I missing something, or maybe this isn't for my GPS. Error message reads: "There is a problem communicating with the data card, ensure that the removable drive is plugged in and that a card is correctly inserted." Can someone educate me on this? I am also new at posting so if someone wants to e-mail me with the GPS button topic that would be ok. hcvagasky@aol.com
  12. I AM IN FOR AT LEAST 10-15 COINS AND $5.00 - $10.00 WORTH OF NICKLES. I WOULD ORDER MORE BUT I AM GETTING READY TO MOVE THIS JUNE. I WANT SOME CALIFORNIA COINS TO TAKE WITH ME TO MY NEW HOME. DEPENDING ON HOW MUCH THE FINAL COINS ARE I MAY ORDER MORE. I WILL NOT HAVE ALOT OF TIME TO CHECK THE POSTS WHILE I MOVE SO IF SOMEKIND CACHER COULD KEEP ME POSTED VIA E-MAIL WHEN THE COINS ARE READY TO ORDER I WOULD APPRICIATE IT. HCVAGASKY@AOL.COM
  13. The stickers are good, thanks. How about a key chain? I just bought one from the geocaching site, but I would buy one with this saying on it too.
  14. I went to reply and It got lost, not sure where it went... Saxondog and PC Mike...You two are in tow different states so you don't need to worry about eachothers caches. Yes sometimes i see junk, I try to remember the mctoys are for families whoe geocache. Getting a "toy" is just a nice additive. The whole idea of caching is for fun!!! Yes I too would be dissapointed if I got junk in my caches, however when I do dfind a cache with "good stuff" t makes it all the better. Some some caches are nicer than others, maybe somepeopl can't afford much. Someone said if you bought a GPS to cache with... maybe someone got this as a gift. Or what if someone is new to geocaching and is not sure what kind of goodies to put in. Yes the bad people do always ruin things for the good people, but this seems to be a way of life. I don't belieave in a reprimand...this is ment to be fun and it's only a game! Maybe someone will learn to start to carry better items of trade? Maybe not. It is great you have agreed to disagree, however there is alot in life we disagree with and just actept. Just felt like putting my 2 cents in. You two seemed to be so heated on this deate. Some people are into provaking, maybe this was all it was? I don't know. I know I try to put my trade at = value but sometimes I may run low on supplies, sometimes i put a good goodie, like a coin in a cache that has "lame" goodies. It all balances out in the end. OK I SHOULD HAVE USED SPELL CHECK!!
  15. pc mike...I don't think you two need to worry about eachothers caches. Ones on OH and the other is in FL.
  16. You asked for new ideas...I have one for you. On the "map it" page you can hit "identify" and get a list of caches, how about on this page you put the boxes to check for downloading more than one cache at a time. I think that convienience on this page would be much better. Just a thought. Also I read another post about getting caches off a coridor, say I-5 Washington. Funny you read my mind. I was just on the website looking for just that. I was thinking more of rest stop caches along I-5. I understand this is costly and difficult, but it would be great!!!
  17. Thanks for the reply. I will check that site out.
  18. LOL That saying was great! It had me laughing........... It is so true! Thanks for the tank top idea, That would be my choice. However I too would like something other than white. Let me know if something comes available. Also as to another question that was asked...maybe a sweatshirt, doesn't have to be fancy or hooded. I would definatly go for that too.
  19. I will be moving to this area by next spring and I was wondering if there are any caching groups in this area like what we have at home in Sacramento Ca. Also not to be discriminitive, but are there any female cachers in the age group of 25-45 in the Ft. Knox/Radcliff/Elizabethtown area of Kentucky????
  20. Thank you all for the replys. I will definatly check out the River City Geocaching.. As the the question that was asked, no I am not from Lincoln. What do you mean SN? I will have to check out the caches in Lincoln when I get going, It is not too far from me. Thanks. Thank you for the invite to the Oroville Pizza Party, you are right it is a bit of a drive, but we will see. You never know where a "Sunday" drive will take you. Again, thanks to everyone that replied.
  21. I am new and have never been on a hunt before. I will be getting a GPS soon and was wondering if there was a group event in my area to help me get started. I am in the North Sacramento area.
