  1. Must be my (generally comparitively) young age giving me away again, I hate micros and LOATHE nanos, but I'm afraid if you're thinking the 5th then I'm away on a course all weekend My birthday on the 4th though! Was going to have an event with some night caching but too little notice (:
  2. Yeah I did it lmao. And you're right, it is good LOL.
  3. OK, using the download to gps or send to gps or whatever button on the cache page, seems to work until I go to find lots of caches together? For instance the series that starts with GC1D55A then continues with 55B and 55C et al. For some reason its only being saved on my gps up to the 55, missing off the last number, so every time I load a new geocache, it wipes the old one :\
  4. ...yes. I'm just looking for hidden lunchboxes, that's too complicated.
  5. Awesome, cheers london worked a treat, norsch didn't try your way sorry
  6. Haha thats actually a dead good idea, maybe one of us should do an early morning event cache if we decide where to go lol.
  7. TBF I just made a new username and stopped using the old one apart from when I'm maintaining the caches "owned" by the old account. Though it does get confusing if I start posting things having forgotten to sign into the correct account.
  8. Okay, so I have a garmin etrex, a serial cable, a serial to USB adapter, a laptop with USB and an internet connection, a geocaching.com account, but no distructions. I've been caching for like 6-7 years but never done it this way, how the bloomin heck do I get the cache details onto my gps!!? I plug it in but nowt happens, and with no distructions to work by I'm hoping someone here will point me in the right direction
  9. Haha, it was about 3am if I remember correctly whilst thinking that! Not sleeping much atm lol.
  10. I don't mean to pick you out, but I've not worked out how to multiquote and it's 3am. As far as I agree partially to what you're saying, YES, there are a lot more 35mm caches around. HOWEVER there is an also INCREASING number of HIGH QUALITY LARGE caches. I for one will never plant a micro unless there is a valid reason for having such a small cache, it is my aim to always plant the biggest funest (yes that is a real word, shut up) cache I can. I know for sure, that there are other people who have this philosophy. I'm tired of people moaning about s***e micros all over the place. If it really matters, don't go and find micro caches! Lead by example, and get out there setting "good" caches. Some people just don't know any better. Adopt a newbie and lead by example. [/rant] I think this is a brilliant idea, I'm going to talk to my local stations and ask if I can stash an ammo box at each one.
  11. A long shot, OK, but figured I'd see if anyone was up for it. I'm going to go caching either in an hour or so, or early morning (in time for sunrise maybe) and wondered if anyone wanted to go Oxfordshire Warwickshire or Northamptonshire preferably, or somewhere close, I'm based in Banbury.
  12. I tend to use the "Map It!" feature on the "my profile" page to find caches around where I'm looking, and then either my trusty OS map, or multimap.com multimap.com gives you the option of an OS map overlay, so you can print pages from there then I'll either print off the cache pages, or write down relevant information in an A4 notepad
  13. I love the way people are getting so worked up about the fact that one person doesn't like the word muggle.
  14. Messe's "H2O" is a brill cache! Mind you, most of his are ace!
  15. haha! I was going to say you should have asked said copper for his pencil! I get enough looks as it is, as a 21 year old who looks about 16 driving around in a modified long wheelbase landrover LOL though I've not been spoken to whilst caching yet! Good story
  16. And there's me living in Banbury Been finding your caches No way! I'm from Bodicote and Messe's up the road in Banbury, his cache's are BRILLIANT. I've just reactivated a little series of three in bodicote actually, there's five or six around there hint hint Give us a shout if you're around
  17. Just another quickie to say if anyone in the Bicester or Banbury area (oxfordshire) wants a point in the right direction then I'm always about and could do with some encouragement
  18. Hiya chaps Basically, I've got an OS map, with checkpoints marked onto it. I'd like to upload these checkpoints into my etrex (not for cheating reasons honestly!! ) it's for safety haha. But seeing as my etrex runs off coords, and my map conveniently uses british grid references, how can I convert them?
  19. Tried this on a few computers now on both Mozilla and IE, and I can move the map around, though cannot search for places, and when I move the map it will not refresh the displayed caches.. Anyone else getting this?
  20. THANKYOUUUUUU FOR MY CHRISTMAS PRESENTTTTT It's much better than what I had before JollyJax has said I need to find 100 caches over christmas eek! Well I'm going to cheat, and use the 7 I have found under this username already, and will do my best to crack 100 by the end of Jan Then again, I won't be doing micros so mayhaps it will be a tall order!! Did any of you recieve caching related presents?
  21. Happy crimbo everyone (: Now get that dinner gulped down and get out caching!!
