  1. https://apps.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas/reports/ViewExhibitReport.cfm?mode=Exhibits&RequestTimeout=500&calledFromFrame=N&application_id=776156&fcc_id=IPH-02100 FCC approval ! I think shipping will now starting soon !
  2. Did you find something? There are a lot of Garmin devices (also for end-2012 and 2013). May be it it is one of the confidential-marked devices.
  3. Good question. Have you thought of searching the FCC Equipment Approval website? I did not found anything on the FCC Website. However, is this final approval already available ?
  4. You have to activate the spammer mode on the colorado: SETTINGS-SYSTEM-INTERFACE-SPANNER
  5. That's strange... I did some battery testing this weekend as well (300 w. 2.4). Rechargeable 1950mAH and 2300mAH, backlight on one minute auto off, playing around a couple of times during the day etc... In both trials I got more than 10 hours... With backlight on full it was around 5-6 hours (90% sure on the 5-6 hours as I didn't pay too much attention about this first test). My results (Colorado 300 w. 2.4, stationary, good GPS conditions) The time is measured until the auto off of the receiver. Fresh Alkaline Batteries (100% Backlight on, no auto shutdown of backlight)): 4.5 hours Fresh eneloop Batteries (100% Backlight on, no auto shutdown backlight) 10 hours The value for alkalines is pretty bad and not different from Firmware 2.3. The value for eneloop-batteries is improved and overall not bad !
  6. I'm also using this heart rate monitoring. It would also be nice if the Colorado could be supported by Garmin TrainingCenter. Currently works neither the windows nor the mac version. This should also be a "quick-made" fix for Garmin !
  7. I think there is no difference in the basemap of the receivers. I'm using a american version of Colorado 300 here in Germany, Europe and the basemap shows all highways, some important streets and towns. The DEM Map shows a very beautyful and detailed view of the topographic situatuion. As far as I could compare it with european Colorado's (only via Screenshots) there is absolutely no difference in the basemap between european and american C. I think the differences are only to find in different packages and printed manuals (only quick start). This concerns only the 300er Versions. The 400t makes no sense in Europe (only exception: Planning trips to US for walking and shopping)
  8. Other possibility: 1. Watch for Pre-Annoucements from Garmin 2. Sold your old unit for very good price 3. Buy the new one 4. Wait 24 months (actual Garmin Cycle for new outdoor recievers) Garmin firmware updates are frequently and will fix the most issues quickly (my experience) .
  9. The differences seem to be very small. Because there is no printed manual (only the quick start guide) in the package, the difference seems to be the different printed package and the including quickstart guide (the us version contains a english&french version). The detail of streets / towns on the basemap is identically in Europe and US. From my point I would say there is no difference in the basemap between the Europe and the US - Version
  10. My Intenso 4GB SDHC-Card works without problems in my Garmin 300 .
  11. Thanks for the post, working fine with my maps. Do you use other maps different from the demo map ? Did Bob installed this demo map in the system library directory or in user library directory (see my posting below).
  12. I found the reasion for my problems. My further MapInstall / MapManager installlaton installed the maps in the directory 1: /user/andreas/library/Application Support/Garmin/Maps Bobcat installed his map in the directory 2: /Library/Application Support/Garmin Maps If delete/renamed the first directory Bobcat will start with the maps found in the second directory. Manual copied maps from the first dirctory to the second also work. However, from point of view this is an error. The second directory is a system directory. Bobcat has to install his maps (like other programs) in the user specific Application Support directory.
  13. I also sucessfully used MapInstall / MapManager before. I'm working with german version of Mac OS. May be it could be a localization error.
  14. Does it work ? I received the message "Exception thrown" during startup.
  15. Next week (Mac Expo) Garmin will probably present Mapsource for Mac ! (compare http://garmin.blogs.com/my_weblog/2008/01/...corner-it.html)
  16. Product "bobcat": Maybe a gps extension for the iphone ?
  17. May be. I think the release of "Mapsource for Mac" is sure, but what in detail is this cryptic product "Bobcat" ?
  18. Concerning on the new entry about Garmin Mac Products in Garmin Blog ( http://garmin.blogs.com/ ): Any idea what this codenamed product "Bobcat" could be ?
  19. Connection via serial (round) interface using Garmin protocol is still not working! Tested with GPSMPA 60Cx (Version 2.60) and Loox N520 PocketPC Tested software: g7toce, pathaway, oziexplorerce NMEA protocol works without problems. BTW: Improved is not fixed !
  20. Me too. I think, that the CSx's have the Version 2.40 and the Cx's have the Version 2.30 I assume that these numbers are the firmware of the GPS chipset (Sirf).
