  1. If he'd had time I would have taken him down the road and got 6 pints of hand pulled instead of the widgetted Boddies, but this boy is on a mission. I don't think he stops for food or drink.
  2. This might keep you amused for 10 minutes.
  3. It's a good job the local hire shop (my house) had a GPSr available. In exchange for 12 cans of Boddingtons (Rutson's idea - not mine) he went away from here last night clutching a well used Vista which should enable him to knock off the last few remaining W Yorkshre caches over the next few days. He's not the only one on the receivnig end of a GPSr from me this week, is he Donnie. Has the postman been yet??
  4. You can go to the ball Cinderella. Give me a call and you can borrow my spare Vista.
  5. If you find anything in a cache that you deem to be unsuitable then remove and destroy the offending items. Simple. I don't see the need to archive this cache.
  6. Have you tried entering Pool Bridge Campsite into google??
  7. Following two reports of drug users near to the cache location and used needles being seen nearby, I have relocated the W Yorks Bug Hotel. You can't be too careful these days and the last thing I would have liked to have been responsible for was someone rooting round in long grass and getting jabbed by one of those evil things. I have moved the box off the service area property and reported the incidence of needles to the management. As the box has moved over a quarter of a mile from its original location, I am allowing previous finders to revisit and re-log.
  8. Tip number one. Get a 6 in 1 card reader and transfer your maps directly on to the expansion card using that. It is much quicker for large map sections. To get the caches into MM you use "export data to PDA", that sends an .mmo files to the pda with all the waypoints and tracks in it. Tip number two Don't send too much cache data to the pda. If you try to load all the caches in the UK into MM, it will either slow to a crawl or fall on it's head. FYI I'm using pretty much the same set up as you and don't have the same problems.
  9. Nice stats. There was a time when I "might" have been a numbers man but wouldn't admit it, that I would have been either number one or number two on the non-American list, but having been in retirement now for almost 18 months and almost out of therapy, I guess 21 is still quite respectable. The numbers are certainly up to date as the cache we found in Italy on Sunday is included.
  10. I thought I had made a pretty good stab at the above explanation considering I had just got back from the pub last night and was somewhat "tired and emotional" Off to Switzerland in 10 minutes.. bye. (yodell-oddle) Alex.
  11. It's easy. If you have a 60CS or a GPS V and want it to do turn by turn autorouting, then you need Garmin City Select v6. In the UK this runs out at about 300 quid or £175 from the States. For this extortionate amount of money you get to unlock the maps for two gps devices. So if you have a 60CS and an Ique you are laughing. If you only have one GPS device then you have a spare unlock code that could quickly make you the best friends of Pengy & Tigger or Sparticus who are looking to find a cheaper way of getting hold of the goodies. On the other hand, it you can do without the autorouting and lets face it, it doesn't take a brain surgeon to work out the best route from John O'Groats to Inverness, then all you need it Metroguide V6, which has the same maps but without the autorouting and does not require any unlock codes. Any bloke who is going to sell you a 60CS on the cheap is sure to throw in an iffy copy of that just to be nice.
  12. I just upgraded my old 3870 to PPC 2003. So now I have Jawbreaker. 4 minute process, totally painless. If anyone else on here has an Ipaq 38** series I can point them in the direction of a cheap upgrade.
  13. Unless you someone over there who will maintain the caches for you, you have little chance of getting them past the reviewers.
  14. Close... but not quite. It was a Spear & Jackson No.3
  15. Just got given the complete Monty Python DVD set. All 45 eposides on 14 dvds. I'm keeping them in a cardboard box. BTW, did you know that Howard Molson has got a new shovel?? A virtual cream bun for the first one who can tell me what make it is.
  16. I'm not sure that you would get that one past the numbers reviewers.
  17. I've told you once.............. PS - Hi Klaus.
  18. It's UK humour on a UK forum. Can you live with that? You decide.
  19. No but you never see them on this forum banging on about how many caches they have set. What IS the most number of caches placed by one person in 24 hours???
  20. There is enough information on his cache page to find his name, addresss and phone number from public internet sources, but really the best thing to do is to give it up as a bad job and use the copy tag to send an replacement bug out into the world. A.
  21. The Beatles Abbey Road webcam is one of the better ones.
  22. Yes, being caught coming out of the bushes with those two must take some explaining.
  23. Yes, it's looking much better and I'm glad you decided to ditch the frames. They are a real no-no these days. Just one little thing that might make things tidier. Try to avoid capital letters and spaces in your page names. http://www.geocachingtoday.com/agranddayout1.htm works much better than: http://www.geocachingtoday.com/A%20Grand%20Day%20Out1.htm URL's are case sensitive once you get away from the root so having caps and spaces in there can cause problems. As you say, you have learnt a lot in a week. Alex.
