  1. The space shuttle and space station are not in geosync orbit but they can be positioned where they are needed. As long as the sats overlap where needed you are good to go. leaves bald spots in other places though.
  2. well i looked at the dakota 20 and it runs $350+ and I can get a Vista for $200. The dakota looks nice but out of my budget. I rarely use maps but then again i just started geocaching and it seems they might make life A LOT easier. From what every one is telling me it looks like the Vista with it's removable mem will be more than worth the extra $30 bucks over summit. Thanks -John
  3. My current GPS's are a magellan 315 and a garmin etrex (the original). While the garmin gets good reception it doesn't have WAAS and the etrex has WAAS and a feather in the air is pretty much enough to knock out signal so i wanted to upgrade to a high sensitivity receiver with WAAS. I was hoping to get some advice on whether to get a Vista HCx or a Summit HCx. I've been over most all the tech specs but the main questions the website doesn't answer are this. How do the receiver performances compare? How much can you store on the 24mb memory? Would a larger memory chip be of that much use? do both memories hold the same info (ie same limits on note size or waypoints etc)? Are there any cons that i may not know about? What is the REALISTIC battery life? Any other useful information. Thanks in advance -FFJohn
