  1. In keeping with the Arthurian theme... The King and Queen must be found... Intrepid cachers will be inducted as Knights of the Ammo-Box... The event approacheth... 180+ peoples are currently set to arriveth... It's not too lateth...
  2. Day visitors are more than welcome and we look forward to seeing many. There will be a couple of marquees set up on site for courses, socializing, and of course the hog roast. I don't know of any pubs in the area that could handle a crowd this large so most will be done on site. Although we do expect groups to frequent local establishments. The nearest to the campsite is hosting a wedding on the Saturday, so will not be available. So come along and socialize, trade stories and strategies and swap some Travel Bugs. Lynn
  3. Down close to the wire for this one now folks. So much to do and barely enough time to do it but we're trying hard. The numbers continue to increase with a total now of 176 people as of this evening. The list is.... Don't forget if you are logging your interest to please... please... let us know how many you are (adults and childrens), if you are camping, which nights you'll be there and last but not least wether you'll be partaking of the Saturday evening hog roast. The final day for registering your interest in the latter will be Monday morning as this is when we will be providing numbers to the jolly chap who is going to select the beastie and cook it for us all next weekend. Thanks, Martin, Lynn and, of course, Maddie
  4. Congrats Tony. You did what you said you were going to do half way to the mileenium now
  5. The coins are now in and shipping. There are still a few blue ones available for any who have not ordered yet. Please send all inquiries to kaqcommittee@yahoo.co.uk Costs are £6.00 each and .50 shipping per coin. It will have its own icon although it is not uploaded yet. Lynn
  6. That's a ding on that one Marigaux It's a conical device that compensates for the change in pull of the weight as the chain gets longer. Over to you...
  7. And you don't think that is somewhat personal? (I had already removed my reply judging that is was inappropriate) Mine was a lot more general in content and did not direct any personal insult towards anyone. somewhat more light hearted than yours. As i am sure that your are in peak shape have a great personality and are a picture to look at i will retract mine. I'm sorry but I did take offence to the 'low esteem' comment. I felt it was insulting to the many folks who have fun with this sport and have no problem with giving their fellow cachers a well deserved pat on the back when they achieve a milestone. You, by your comment, pre-judged them all and I was incensed by that. Having said that, I do apologise for my response. It was personal and equally uncalled-for.

  9. And some, like Texas, are three times as big. But the population of, usng the same example, of Texas is 1/3rd of the population of the UK. This leads to a potentially much higher concentration of caches.
  10. Without a shadow of a doubt How amazingly appropriate!
  11. With all the irritating things we have to do on a day to day basis, I really do think that scrolling down through the forum past threads that we are not interested in is really rather insignificant. Winging threads can be equally irritating. jmho Martin
  12. So that must be me then. I don't think that is you, but I could have a bloody good guess on who it is though? Hmmm... definitely dangerous to tread on this one me thinks. So many possible parallells. I think I may have a good candidate for the 'Cyber Sisters' although definitely not all women. Martin
  13. I have a few of the blue coins leftover from the ROW orders. They will ship from the UK so the postage will be a little higher than the US orders are. Paypal will be sent in GBP but they do offer a favorable exchange rate. I anticipate having a few of the Gold coins remaining after the event and these will also be offered up for sale at a later time. please send inquiries to kaqcommittee@yahoo.co.uk Remember these are event coins and any profit on them go back into the event. The icon is not up yet but should be shortly. Lynn
  14. when the whole government of the USA started speaking in such high squeaky voices that no-one could understand them. In what kind of device would you find a fusee?
  15. I think that's in the States. I seem to recall that is why Germany used hydrogen in the Zeppelins because they didn't have access to the Helium.
  16. Well done You guys. A BIG congrats from us as well Lynn & Martin
  17. Here are the pics of the European (ROW), attendees and volunteer coins. There are a few blue ones remaining. Please email inquiries to kaqcommittee@yahoo.co.uk These coins will be sent out starting tomorrow. Lynn
