Post a pick of your caching dog
the england's replied to ChrisCindy's topic in General geocaching topics
Here is my 4 month old kelpie x blue heeler pup. His name is "Trex". Cachers know where that name came from and to the muggles I say it's short for T-Rex because he can be a monster sometimes. This is him on the cover of the "embi geocaching signature item ver 2.0". -
Oh oh! Someone was thinking too hard....
the england's replied to Goat6500's topic in General geocaching topics
Being an approver I will be asking for all coords for multistage caches now. Dont blame me if it takes longer for your cache to be approved now...blame Goat6500! -
The reason being that a base model etrex here in australia generally retail at AU$450..some places you can get them as low as AU$300 but you have to know where to look. AU$450 is US$291 and AU$300 is US$194. Maybe you can see why now. I purchased a brand new etrex for my father from the US and got it for AU$180 which is US$116....a huge difference.
-
When HOLD is placed on your cache page it means one of the approvers is looking at your cache submission and may have queries about it. tms is the "code" of that particular approver. It's mainly so we know who is looking into that particular cache.

how long does it take to get cache approved??
the england's replied to Madhatt's topic in General geocaching topics
Just depends how big the queue is. I approve the Australian ones and I usually dont have many during the week, but after a weekend it gets full. So it depends on what sort of workload your local approver has. Be patient, it will get looked at. Keep in mind the approvers are volunteers too. Sometimes they occasionlly like to slip out and do some caching too. -

Everytime someone posts on a cache page that I am watching I get 2 identical emails. Any ideas why?
-
I have to agree on this. I too, had to just yesterday turn around at a cache as it was a dog free zone. I like the idea of people stating if it is a dog free zone. My dog Trex "Before beginning a hunt, it is wise to ask someone what you are looking for before you begin looking for it." Pooh

I have a cache especially for getting new batteries on the hunt..... recharge "Before beginning a hunt, it is wise to ask someone what you are looking for before you begin looking for it." Pooh

Please help me name our future geocaching partner.
the england's replied to 3fros's topic in General geocaching topics
I was also looking for a name for my new pup in the last lot of postings and I came up with Trex. Good in two ways. For us cachers everyone knows it etrex shortened and for the muggles its short for T-rex. (a big monster). Feel free to use Trex if you like. If I had the guts to start cutting, I would have just cut through the elbow joint. Wouldnt have to go near any bone. "Before beginning a hunt, it is wise to ask someone what you are looking for before you begin looking for it." Pooh

I'm an aussie and I am about to get a geo pup (Australian Kelpie/Blue Heeler X) and I suggested to someone over here that I should get everyone here to help me pick a name. Well I was told in no certain terms that I cant do that but now that I have seen this i'll add that I want help in picking a name....I do like compass. "Before beginning a hunt, it is wise to ask someone what you are looking for before you begin looking for it." Pooh -
Thanks for all the replies...Fine print was what I was looking for, but now that I know windows can do it i'll go that way "Before beginning a hunt, it is wise to ask someone what you are looking for before you begin looking for it." Pooh
